Job Summary
The role of a Construction Services Miner includes a wide variety of work such as shotcreting, building refuge stations, crusher stations, muck bins, conveyor installation, timber and concrete work, sump installations and many more challenges. The worker is experienced and proficient in some construction mining tasks and is able to complete them efficiently with minimal supervision.
Miners will inspect existing underground headings, scale loose rocks and install ground support to stabilize rock mass and ensure overall safety in the construction of a mine. The tasks may involve the operation of scaling bars, pneumatic hand-held drills, use of rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as mechanized bolters, scissor trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment. Other tasks associated with this position may include, but are not limited to, the installation of vent tubing (air, water and pumping lines), other construction work and maintenance jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspect the workplace and make safe as required
Shotcrete/Concrete work
Building Refuge Stations
Responsible for Pipe/vent and storage inventory
Perform equipment checks
Operate various types of mobile equipment
Operate hand-held drills such as jacklegs and stopers
Follow established regulatory, company, and client rules and regulations
Other duties as required
