The world’s first saliva pregnancy test could soon be available in the UK after a York-based company has secured a distribution deal.
Salistick is a saliva-based pregnancy test, developed by the Israeli start-up Salignostics, and aims to offer women a new and improved user-experience.

The kit uses groundbreaking technology to detect the pregnancy hormone ß-hCG in saliva and promises to deliver results in 10 minutes.

The product has already been available since the start of the year in South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and Israel and will soon be in the UK through Abingdon Health which has signed a distribution agreement with the Israeli developer.

Salistick will be co-branded Abingdon Simply Test and is anticipated to be available in the second quarter of 2023.

The test will be sold through Abingdon’s eCommerce platform and through Abingdon’s other pharmacy distribution channels.

Dr Guy Krief, co-founder and deputy CEO at Salignostics, said: “We are excited to join with Abingdon Health to bring our Salistick saliva-based pregnancy test to consumers in the UK and Ireland.

“We believe that Abingdon Health is the right partner to bring this revolutionary product to pharmacy shelves throughout the region, allowing for easy and accessible pregnancy tests for women.”
