Aye, aye captain! Continued dollar weakness looks good for gold but just not sure how long that will continue. Hopefully in the background meanwhile, our boys have found some wonderous new method of extracting gold at unbelievably cheap prices!
Clearly we all have our own views here. Gold price, as this is a gold miner, of course has an impact. Gold price however is not within AVM's control so little point in pontificating however costs are within control and in that respect, it's doing the right thing and reducing them. Oil price is doing it a favour there as well. I'm in here so slightly biased but if they can continue down that route with support from their major shareholder, which also seems to be happening, then that's good enough for me to hold on. As Lofty noted, they may come out of this as one of the favoured few producers of a product that quite honestly, I can't see not always being in demand.
Yeh, c'mon, these guys are no idiots. There is something behind their continued support I'm sure and they will have a hotline to more information than we're getting. They will also have a vested interest, and some leverage I'm sure, on the Board so they must be happy enough even though we're in the dark as to what's going on. Personally, I'm still in there. I've lost enough now to be prepared to hold on. We do need some better news otherwise don't be surprised to see the price bobbing up and down between 4.5p and 5.5p just now as the day traders take advantage.
Are Elliott as dumb as the rest of us then in that case in chucking money as this seemingly doomed company or do they know something we don't?
Not as much positive activity as you may have expected after the mining licence news no?
I'm with Lofty, Draft, we all share your frustrations. Look at this morning - decent rise but why? Is this just people buying in and hence a pure demand driven rise? I for one am up for hanging around to see what happens and bearing in mind the old investment adage of don't invest what you can't afford to lose. I'm also up for a visit to Burkina to stage a hostile takeover but the missus prefers Lanzarote - it ain't happening!
Agreed all. There clearly won't be any significant movement until an announcement is made. Anyone fancy a winter sun trip to Burkina Faso to check it out!?
Personally, I'm in favour of an EGM to appoint Lofty as CEO!
Morning all - seems the last few days have been positive but not certain why with no news I'm aware of. Did it bottom out completely and we're seeing a gentle rise back to the 8/9p mark you reckon?
I'm with you dduck...it's almost that I'm so far down that a few extra isn't going to make that much difference!!
I guess Q3 results due in a couple of weeks is next we hear but I fear it will be "no change" i.e. still no carbon binding etc. I agree it is frustrating that the BoD are silent
Yup, no idea what happened there but I've no doubt it will reverse tomorrow based on demand at that price even if it's just due to people looking to make a quick buck.
Hi all. Read everyone's posts with interest but first time I've contributed. Held this for about a year now so drastically bad decision to come in at that time! Any positive thoughts or are we indeed watching a sinking ship here?
