The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Just to let you all know. I’ve just spoken to Elizabeth Humphrey and sh tells me that the planning appeal has now been passed to the Secretary of State to make a final decision. This will be done on or before the 7th of June. This means that the inspector has completed his report and given his recommendation.
Just to be clear I am a holder and will continue to hold and add when I can at anything below 20p. I’m sure this will come good as the majors would not invest for nothing. Just frustrated with good news and a price drop.
So the planning appeal is still being looked at by Surrey county council. The case officer is Elizabeth Humphrey. Her tel no 0303 444 5384. I will be chasing her up again this morning trying to get some kind of time scale on a decision. From my email I received this morning the decision at Surrey county council could just be the first part of many. Can’t believe anything gets done in this country. I urge anyone who can be bothered to phone Elizabeth Humphrey. Maybe a bit of pressure might do something.
I had this reply to an email this morning.
I’ve got to the bottom of where this application is.
I’ve had a reply from Elizabeth Humphrey saying ‘the Inspector is still completing the report and recommendation. We will transfer it to you as soon as the report is submitted to the SoS.’
So it will come to us as its been declared a recovered appeal – one decided by a minister (or someone acting on their behalf) rather than by the Planning Inspectorate – but at the moment the Inspector is still completing their report. These reports are often very long with a lot of detail, so they are probably trying to ensure everything is factually correct and there are no errors.
Once we receive it, one of our officers will assess the case including the Inspector’s report and a decision will be made as to whether it needs to be submitted to a minister or decided by officers.
If it does have to go to a minister, that will obviously add more time onto when the final decision will be released.
I hope that this email provides you with some clarity on the situation. As I had forwarded your email below to the Planning Inspectorate, you may get another response from them.
I understand that Brad likes to keep his cards close to his chest but I was really hoping for something a bit more exciting today. If he doesn’t give us something a bit more meaty soon I fear the sp will drift back down to the 10s loosing all the recent gains.
I’ve been in shares like this before where a lot of the shares are being held tight. As long as when they become available they get snapped up and held the mms have no choice but to put the price up to create a market. Hold for gold.
