Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
This was one of the very first shares i invested in. After making a few quid from Thomas cook before they went I used that to gain a modest holding here right before the suspension. I got so much grief from the wife thinking I’d lost the investment but the tenacity of research and communal sharing from this board was fantastic. Hard to convince the wife that ‘some bloke from this forum’ said it’ll be fine but in truth, that’s exactly what it has been. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed learning about this industry and process by reading this board, like I assume many others have who don’t maybe engage, and I just wanted to say thanks to the main posters
I'm in a similar boat here. Only invested a small amount to get started, so opened a HL stocks and share account but it happened to be EUA. Currently sitting at £6,500 - can anyone advise what the best option to do is?
From the AIM rules on LondonStockExchange site:

I've discussed before about the potential of Infotagion driving a considerable amount of traffic, however these guys still feel like they're missing a trick.
- Nothing on the site is optimised towards some of the bigger searches
- site structure is non-existent
- They have people 22,00 website's mentioning their name but only 150 linking to them, something Google uses to pass authority
- they only have circa 100 articles, something we should be ramped up to start driving considerable traffic
I know social traffic is their background but they have the components to be big here in typical search.
Infotagion, in theory, has legs to become a huge traffic driver and I’ll explain why. Before I start, I work in SEO so it’s my job to understand search behaviour and how google rank websites, something I think will be important for infotagion.
Firstly, Rumours and internet hearsay drive a lot of traffic for websites. The lion share would Currently be going to publisher sites like the UK press or WSJ or NYTimes. They create really thin content but because they are the powerful sites that they are, they will be mopping it up.
I’m not sure they always will, as google knows and is concerned that the content they serve is usually a myriad of regurgitated comments from sources on the web. Google needs credibility. Google has a big issue in dealing with the spread of fake or wrong Information, particularly in ymyl (your money or your life) search keywords e.g. ‘can carrots cure covid’ or ‘investment website’. It knows that wrong information can be harmful to searchers such as scammers or tin foil hat health websites.
Google use hundreds of ranking factors to decide the order of search results but not every keyword or industry uses the same set. Google knows that different factors have more weight than others e.g. a new industry such as crypto currency will have news for better suited websites with the best financial content as opposed to traditional financial websites such as FT or LSE.
To make sure it’s algorithms are performing as they should, marking its homework if you would, It has a set of guidelines, which it gives to Manual quality raters, who review thousands of searches along with the top ranking content to make sure that it’s algorithms are serving up quality and accurate results at the top. I work in this field so I know a fair bit. The guidelines that you need to be aware of are called EAT (expertise, authority, trust) which it dials up when keywords could impact your financial or health aspect of your life.
The reason why I think that infotagion has potential is because it uses the principals of EAT to categorically answer the question that is being searched for. It collates a set of credible sources to ensure real and scientifically backed information is answering the question that is being searched for. This pips them ahead of publishers as google will start to understand and recognise them as a leader in this space.
The revenue comes from owning ‘the go to’ website which dominates the rankings for rumour based searches. The traffic will be through the roof once this picks up and it quickly generates money from ads. Then comes the data packaging Of data they can resell,m.
What makes me nervous is the lack of search optimisation on the current site. Whilst they have the foundations for something great, I’m not too sure they’re fully aware of how to get the most out of it.
