🔹 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the United States of America has made a promise to cede parts of Ukraine's territory to Russia and that they have accepted that the old territories should be returned to Russia.

🔹 His statement refers to Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea.

🔹 These statements by the Russian Foreign Minister come after American officials in Berlin spoke with Ukrainian and European leaders about a possible peace agreement.

🔹 At that meeting, America informed Kyiv and its European allies that the “first-class (platinum) proposal” presented by Trump is based on providing security guarantees in exchange for ceding part of the territory to Russia.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff just released a readout of his sixth meeting with Ukrainian officials in the past two weeks.

Key developments:

Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Ukrainian Secretary of National Security Rustem Umerov and Chief of General Staff General Andriy Hnatov for "constructive discussions on advancing a credible pathway toward a durable and just peace."

They discussed results of the recent Kremlin meeting with Putin and steps that could lead to ending the war.

Major breakthrough:

"The American and Ukrainians also agreed on the framework of security arrangements and discussed necessary deterrence capabilities to sustain a lasting peace."

Both parties agreed that "real progress toward any agreement depends on Russia's readiness to show serious commitment to long-term peace, including steps toward de-escalation and cessation of killings."

They also reviewed Ukraine's post-war reconstruction, joint U.S.-Ukraine economic initiatives, and long-term recovery projects.

Goal: Make Ukraine "stronger and more prosperous than before the war."

Talks reconvene tomorrow.

The U.S. and Ukraine are now aligned on security guarantees.
