I believe we’ve narrowed it down to a single issue. We’ve discussed multiple iterations of that issue, which tells me it is solvable.

Ukraine is prepared to make “painful concessions” in order to achieve peace, Czech President Petr Pavel said after meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky.

I thank @POTUS Donald Trump for a great meeting. We had a substantive discussion on all issues, and we much appreciate the progress achieved by American and Ukrainian teams in recent weeks. Special thanks to Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner for their engagement and full commitment, as well as to our team — first of all, to Rustem Umerov and Andrii Hnatov.

We discussed all the aspects of the peace framework and achieved significant results. We also discussed the sequence of further actions. We agreed that security guarantees are key on the path to achieving a lasting peace, and our teams will continue working on all aspects. We agreed that our teams would meet as early as next week to finalize all discussed matters. We also agreed with President Trump that he will host Ukrainian and European leaders in Washington, D.C., in January.

Ukraine seeks a 60-day truce to organize the vote, while Russia may push for a shorter duration; the U.S. supports the ceasefire concept but notes major logistical hurdles. The American plan proposes turning withdrawn areas into a demilitarized "free economic zone," which Ukraine accepts only if Russia fully withdraws troops too, and insists any territorial concessions require approval via a nationwide referendum, as Zelenskyy emphasized. ▪️The planned meeting between Zelensky and Trump on Sunday is not just a diplomatic gesture, but a sign that the negotiations have entered a decisive phase.

▪️Earlier, Trump stated that he would only communicate with Zelensky if there was real progress. And, judging by the leaks, this moment has come.

▪️According to high-ranking American officials, Umerov's negotiations with the Russian representative, Kirill Dmitriev, have already led to significant progress. Washington calls them "the most productive of the entire year": most of the key parameters of the future agreement between the US and Ukraine have already been agreed upon, including security guarantees.

▪️Zelensky also held coordination talks with Kushner and Whitcoff, after which contacts with the Russian side followed.

▪️Moscow, according to the publication, agreed to a ceasefire before signing the final agreements, on the condition that it would be needed to organize a Ukrainian referendum on the territorial issue.

▪️Ukraine, according to sources, insists on a 60-day pause. Russia, however, prefers a shorter window. Judging by the rhetoric of the White House, Washington seriously hopes to "bring the ball to the goal" and complete the deal before the end of winter.

President Zelenskyy said he'll meet Donald Trump in Florida over the weekend to discuss the most politically sensitive parts of a US peace proposal that would ultimately be presented to Russia. He told reporters in a WhatsApp chat, the “meeting is specifically meant to finalise as much as we can”. More TK here:

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has given details of an updated peace plan that offers Russia the potential withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the east that Moscow has demanded.

Giving details of the 20-point plan agreed by US and Ukrainian negotiators in Florida at the weekend, Zelensky said the Russians would respond on Wednesday once the Americans had spoken to them.

Describing the plan as "the main framework for ending the war" Zelensky said it proposed security guarantees from the US, Nato and Europeans for a co-ordinated military response if Russia invaded Ukraine again.

On the key question of Ukraine's eastern Donbas, Zelensky said a "free economic zone" was a potential option.

Over the last two days in Florida, the Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev held productive and constructive meetings with the American delegation to advance President Trump’s peace plan on Ukraine.

The American delegation included Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and White House staff member Josh Gruenbaum.

Russia remains fully committed to achieving peace in Ukraine. Russia highly values the efforts and support of the United States to resolve the Ukrainian conflict and re-establish global security.
