Maybe we can put this one to bed now. There has been a lot of bickering about Keith Marshall’s comments re first production being no earlier than 2029 and whether this was referring to simply the block caving ( as I understood it) or any potential production from shallow deposits….. so I asked the company for clarification….. here is the response

“ You are correct, in Keith’s last panel discussion at the LatAm Investor event he was referring purely to the block cave. Open pittable options from Alpala or satellite targets like Tandayama are being studied and would bring forward the potential start of production of the project while the block cave is being completed”

That's what i was saying earlier, but with very few willing to sell how do you generate the volume?

Could it simply be the lack of liquidity…. Instis not selling anytime soon and pi’s equally holding tight for the most part.?
Still convinced major corporate action taking place behind the scenes…..quiet on all fronts and Irwin in a good place ….. hmmmmm

BNC no doubt he said it but he was referring to Cascabel block cave mine and not Tandayama/ Porvenir…… I think you’ll find it will be quicker and greatly encouraged by the new government

Anything in pence rather than pounds would be derisory in my opinion. However heads are easily turned especially when sitting at these levels …we just don’t want this given away after all this time

Q that’s my point , either a low ball offer or a JV of sorts is on the way imo . I also believe any bid now will way undervalue us , but I’m slightly concerned some may simply have grown tired and vote with their hearts rather than their heads. A JV is another option but generally results in the smaller company being eroded to nothing over time. I also hope any deal is just for Cascabel which could also explain the general radio silence on other licenses.
A strong flow of decent news could be decisive and I believe that’s what is coming …… just my opinion

All this we can agree on ….. where we differ is that I believe an offer is inevitable now that Ecuador is open for business. Please bear in mind that expecting an offer and wanting to accept a low ball offer are two entirely different things. The danger for me is that folk here have been worn down over time and an offer, that not so long ago would have been seen as derisory, may well look attractive to some now .
The light at the end of the tunnel for me is The amount of news being held back that we have in the pipeline …. I believe this is part of a defence strategy to counter any low ball move . It wouldn’t surprise me if the company isn’t calling on our support again before too long and hopefully , when the time comes investors can still see the bigger picture.

Q ….. Tandayama may not be far enough advanced to include in PFS but the inference will certainly be there .

We know that but Twigger stated a week ago Lasso hopes to see first production from Cascabel in his 4 year tenure….. we also had it confirmed since by Ycaza in Lasso’s government that they are looking to fast track certain mining projects.

Could they even be connected? Imagine the scale of the thing then ….. you never know

We’ll Ycaza has clearly now stated they are looking to accelerate certain mining projects and has specifically named some targets including Cascabel….. I’d say Ecuador is officially open for business.
Things can move very quickly from here and if we can set aside who will eventually be operating the mine ( on which we differ) I think there will be plenty of interesting stuff to discuss in the very near future

Keith did say first block cave production from 2029 but clearly they are aiming to start production from shallow deposits way earlier….. anyway this makes interesting reading

“mining policy, set deadlines for a series of actions and arranged to speed up the execution of mining projects considered strategic, through an executive decree, in what is seen by industry representatives as a positive sign.

“The decree is very objective. It sets real and necessary objectives for the sector and recognizes the need for the extractive industry to have accurate processes, ”Andrés Ycaza, trustee of the Ecuadorian Chamber of Mining, told BNamericas. "The message that the president has given is very positive and shows the importance of mining for the country."

Ycaza added that during a meeting that Lasso held with the board of the mining chamber, the president set an ambitious goal: to capture US $ 2 billion in mining investment during his term in office, which means that he understands the window of opportunity that opens mining because there are several projects that with a good push can be accelerated.

Among the projects that could be promoted, Ycaza mentioned Loma Larga, Curipamba, La Plata, Cascabel and Ruta del Cobre, "which in the next two to four years could begin construction, with positive effects on investment and generation of jobs" .

The last week has been pretty **** but has also provided some ( including myself) with an unexpected opportunity to buy some more of this massively undervalued stock. Some are saying news must be close , in my opinion we already have all the news we need and now its all about timing.
I’m confident enough to stick my neck on the line and say we will see 40-50p in the next couple of months on the back of some fantastic news flow.
As always just an opinion but the backdrop here is about as good as it gets in the near term

Agreed but those who missed out will still hopefully know the story and can take up some of the slack
