Loja.- (@srradioEc) .- With the aim of informing the public about the mining industry and its different exploration stages, on Friday, July 30, the second training on “Understanding of mining and the use of water in industry ”. The event was held at the facilities of the Gualel parish GAD and was attended by 38 attendees from the sector, including local authorities, students and residents.
SolGold in agreement with the Private Technical University of Loja (UTPL) and the Center for Innovation and Development for Industry and Mining (CIMA), developed the 2nd part of this training program. On the 1st, it took place on June 11, in the La Nona neighborhood of El Cisne Parish.
During 8 hours, the participants learned about mining, its phases and definitions, as well as identifying where minerals are present in daily life. In the same way, they delved into the permits required by the activity, the technology used and how they take care of water sources and the environment.
Roberto Rojas, Southern Regional Coordinator of the company Green Rock Resources GRR S.A., a subsidiary of SolGold; He mentioned that these trainings are part of the Company's Community Relations Program, which seeks to link the academy as a fundamental entity for information in the communities, through quality education on mining.
“Training spaces like these allow the industry to bring the public closer and thus break myths about extractive activity. In the sectors of: La Nona, Celen and El Ari, we have managed to develop these trainings successfully. The community is convinced and knows in detail what mining entails in the sector, ”said Rojas.
Daniel Ortega, CIMA-UTPL instructor, stated that training citizens on the mining issue is essential, especially if it is intended to change the country's productive matrix with a primary focus on this sector. “Academic work is not about teaching students, but is also aimed at a benefit for communities. We have a duty to share knowledge and lead, in this case, to better mining practices, "he said.
This type of agreement with the academy will continue to be developed in order for the inhabitants of the towns near the areas of influence to obtain as much information as possible and thus be able to witness a responsible mining activity that is carried out under established state standards.
