Here’s what I think and why Irwin & Mather are so cool
Nick will manufacture a bid and maybe even front it.
He says to Jiang Xi or say Gina R .. I think we could get this for (let’s say ) 35p …. The offer comes the board approves it and BHP have a decision to make.
Do they walk away with 35p a share or make a move ??
I think I know the answer ….. either way it’s a win win for Nick .

I agree re BHP but I'm banking on the fact that NM will have something lined up to counter them. It only takes one person to show their hand here and everything changes , this needs to happen quickly , certainly before the AGM

Cov …. Looks bleak now but it won’t once this kicks off. I know many don’t believe a bid will come but I do and it’s getting more and more likely by the day

Red if it was a smelter deal it could be feasible that someone like Boliden is played off against say Jiang Xi ? More than one suitor makes for a better price

Agree with pretty much all of that …. Assuming Q’s comment was typically condescending? Anyway it doesn’t matter .
My opinion that the board are on thin ice is simply based on fact that they have failed to deliver . Their job is to create value for shareholders is it not?
They’ve ****ed up the funding, managed to reduce our exploration to next to nothing and presided over decimation of the share price ….. that doesn’t win my vote. The fact that only Nick has skin in the game is also a disgrace and shows how little confidence the BOD have in their own strategy.
The one thing we have going for us is the resource and that’s someone will want. So I’m still hopeful we’ll all see a decent return on our investments despite the best efforts of Darryl and Co

Sean it feels like a very long play just now.
However plenty will have to happen before the AGM agenda is released and voting begins 2/3 weeks prior to AGM ….. mid November latest. If nothing changes they could all be gone

Not trying to oversimplify things but I believe the reason BHP haven’t moved with a low ball offer is because they know it wouldn’t work and would inevitably spark a bidding war …. Thus weakening their position. With years of experience/ contacts in the sector and 25% (at least ) of voting rights to call upon Nick will have an “alternative “ up his sleeve.
Hence the stalemate….. no one wants to make the first move.
Biggest copper/ gold / silver find in the last decade there will be no shortage of interested parties

Certainly didn’t want Mather out. Love him or loathe him, he’s the only director with real skin in the game and totally aligned with pi’s .
