Oil price hits new wartime high

Good morning - the price of oil has just hit another new wartime high.

The price of a barrel of Brent crude has surged past $125 this morning.

It comes just hours after it hit what was a high of $119.71 (see 18.16 post from yesterday evening).

Before the start of the war in late February, Brent crude was trading around $70 per barrel.

The price is rising amid fears of an escalation in the conflict and an extended blockade of Iran's ports by the US military.
