U.S. stocks staged a comeback in the final hour of trading Thursday, propelled by bank shares as investors weighed the prospects for an economic turnaround following a sharp sell-off a day earlier.

U.S. stocks closed higher on Thursday as financial-sector equities rallied on news that regulators would loosen restrictions on the banking sector. The S&P 500 SPX, +1.09% rose 1.1% to end near 3,084. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +1.17% advanced 300 points, or 1.2%, to finish around 25,746, based on preliminary numbers. The Nasdaq Composite COMP, +1.08% gained 108 points, or 1.1%, to close around 10,017. Despite a wave of U.S. states reporting record high tallies in new coronavirus cases, equities rallied after regulators said they are planning to loosen the restrictions imposed by the Volcker rule, allowing banks to more easily make large investments into venture capital and similar funds. This comes ahead of the release of the financial industry's stress test results by the Federal Reserve.

Dow bounced back, should be a blue day for the FTSE.

Inovio won a $71 million contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to bolster manufacturing of the device it uses to deliver its coronavirus vaccine. The funding will help spur large-scale production of the Cellectra 3PSP device and may pave the way for delivery of hundreds of millions of doses of vaccine next year, Inovio said in a June 23 release. Previously, the company had committed to producing 1 million doses this year.Inovio’s vaccine delivery device uses an electric pulse to open small channels in cells, allowing delivery of DNA plasmids that are meant to help produce an immune response to the novel coronavirus.

Shares of Inovio Pharmaceuticals Inc INO 30.92% , which is developing a DNA vaccine for the novel coronavirus dubbed INO-4800, were advancing strongly Tuesday. Inovio's Vaccine Delivery Device: Plymouth, Pennsylvania-based Inovio said it has received $71 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Defense to scale up manufacturing of its proprietary CELLECTRA 3PSP smart device and the procurement of CELLECTRA 2000 devices, which are used to deliver INO-4800.

The CELLECTRA 3PSP, according to the company, is designed to deliver INO-4800 directly into the skin so the vaccine can prompt body's immune response. The device was initially developed in 2019, with $8.1 million in funding from the medical arm of the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency's Medical CBRN Defense Consortium.

is not just for covid, it is for all vaccines, the world is already seeing huge spikes globally in covid cases like melbounre Australia. Even a second lockdown might happen. Evotec will prove this out for us and then this will get gobbled up by someone soon. too many companies doing test kids now and govt not on top of the results or track n trace, the only real solution is the Vaccine and its Delivery system!
