In an interview with the English news site London South East, Graham Lyon, executive chairman of Sound Energy, which owns the Tendrara gas concession (in the province of Figuig, in eastern Morocco), reveals that he has reached an agreement with the Moroccan group Afriquia
"Afriquia Gaz holds a large share of the Moroccan LPG market (Liquefied petroleum gas, Editor's note)", added the British official to justify this partnership.
"They know the market, they are very solid financially and their main shareholder is one of the largest conglomerates in Morocco," he explained, adding that "the LNG market is new in Morocco and we cannot think of a better partner to enter the market ”.
It should be remembered that at the end of March, the British company indicated that it was in exclusive talks with the Italian Italfluid Geoenergy with a view to building an LNG micro-plant in Tendrara. The production start of this plant is scheduled for 2021. Sound Energy estimates the production of this field at nearly 100 million standard cubic meters of gas per year, for 10 years.
Under this agreement, Afriquia Gaz, a subsidiary of the Akwa group, will ensure the distribution of liquefied natural gas (LNG) which will be produced by Sound Energy. “We have made substantial progress in the discussions. Afriquia Gaz is one of the major players in the distribution of gas and LNG in Morocco and is confirmed as our commercial partner, ”sa
