Whilst that is a fair point and duly noted, he has hundreds of billions to play with now.

WB’s quote was about his early days starting out, concentrating initially on 2-3 stocks, moving to 5-10 when he started Buffett Partnership in the 50’s. That’s how he got to where he is now…

Glad to hear your in profit Fred, and appreciate the sentiment on Rampers and Derampers, however it all depends on timescales. Example: I was bleatingbon some friends about GGP years ago when the price was about 16p…they bought in…I got ribbed for years! But told them to double up when it got to 6p, which they did…very happy with me nowadays…no longer the Dunce in the corner…with them anyway!

He kept them on as he really enjoyed telling them he’d beaten them during their annual meetings…

My dear ol’ dad had a fund manager, a financial advisor and himself. He split his investment capital equally three ways…every single year without fail he outperformed both of them…

I followed it down from 26p Fred, so know how painful that was, and had to find my big boy pants, read up and take plunge to average down to my position now…which is rosy, thankfully.

I started my investment journey with my old man’s advice ringing in my ears about diversification…in short it didn’t work for me (probably more about about me than anything else), but since I’ve read more on GGP than any other company ever I feel confident that almost all of my share based investment money is now tied up here. Regardless of other companies performance, I still believe my money is in the right place…for now, and the next 5 years minimum.

I’m not for one second suggesting that I know what I’m doing though…

Whilst I do agree with Sageman in the most part (particularly if you’re a fund manager looking after other people’s money), I agree more with Warren Buffett…who agrees with Spade…
