Agree with a lot of what you say Chid and your vision sounds ominously real. My hope is that Joe Public won't be taken in and see a declining EU for what it is. I think the Reform Party will now make inroads. Happy with the sitting Tory MP in our constituency but will vote Reform this time to make a point. Our only hope🙏.
I'm confused mrbg: On the one hand hardup is saying it is down to lack of clarity from FCA, and banks done nothing wrong and I hope he/she is right. On the other hand you are saying car finance stuff priced in. Have the banks admitted liability and made provisions in the accounts like they did with PPI? Are they being kicked by a Government clutching at straws thinking it'll get credit for putting cash in people's pockets. Not forgotten how easily Broon filled them over. Or is it as hardup suggests the left wing MSM putting the boot into the big bad banks again. Hadn't seen Money Show/Martyn Lewis but wouldn't surprise.
...just forget...
OK hardup, glad to be proved wrong. Substantial holder in ISA reinvesting divis., so want LLOY to succeed. Just wondering what it'll take for it to happen. Maybe just leave forget about them and hope for the best.
So if it is so cut and dried hardup, why has the market taken fright. Factors other than car finance?
Mrbg: 'The car finance stuff is priced in...' oh, so that's OK then. Shouldn't have happened in the first place! PPI now this...they never seem to learn. They must realise the FCA are watching them...unbelievable.
If proven that banks screwed up again then heads should roll.
Chid, your post of 15.49 very perceptive and sadly a ring of truth. The country my late Father fought for is in decline. Sunak's globalist agenda and now likes of Cameron and Elwood threatening us with WW3 to frit us into reunification with Europe shallow and contemptible.
Ggrantsu: re: your opinion on the websites, perhaps true for someone with a critical eye but less so for the majority of users. In any event websites continually need to update to keep ahead. True for any business but especially likes of Future.
Puzzling indeed, especially when you consider that advertising is one of the first sectors to pick up following recession, albeit the one we haven't quite had yet.
Yeah yeah Alessandro, so where else would you advertise to appeal to the mass market particularly those with money? Don't expect an answer...are you short?
...project
Likewise ffp. I'm not clear about compulsory purchase and the price paid, and whether it is worth hanging on. Spin seems geared to encouraging acceptance but echoes of oroject fear.
Does anyone have a feel on a scale of 1 to 10 how serious the latest shot in their own foot is, if indeed that's what the investigation finds?
Lloyds pays a good divi but if FCA investigation drags on could affect sentiment.
Can see why funds leaving UK, may join them despite Fx charges.
Reports that Wizz and Ryan Air see passenger numbers soar but with reduced load factors. Guess OTB aren't worried about load factors, focus being on selling the holiday packages.
Watching 2: 'Hard to put a finger on a TO. Bid but the longer we go it alone the more we will be worth'.
That's my gut feeling too Watching2. There will come a turning point, perhaps there already, where the focus shifts from finance going forward to the 'paradigm shift' potential.
Thanks Alas, your comments make sense. Most of my investments are in funds and left alone. Self manage most of ISA holdings, including OTB. Alessandro maybe right with predictions, time will tell. Trying to time the market rarely works for me, prefer to buy quality and hold. Can always top up if they fall back. Have to remember too OTB is on AIM which is where the traders make hay.
Too soon to celebrate stp. Remember Kinnock making that mistake.
Labour can't be trusted with the economy.
No-one knows what the Liberals stand for.
Tories hopelessly divided with infighting.
Only hope now is Reform Party and Farage.
...Hi Grizzle 😁
Hi Citra, just googled Citra and there's a fair amount of info, including involvement of the likes of Barratt.
