I think for disability related benefits they are not means tested universal credit and housing benefit are means tested you cannot claim if you have over 16000pounds in savings of course many people will be cheating the system who have over 16000 pounds in savings some will have the money overseas I have a relative who has over a quarter of a million pounds in cash and assets stashed away In India yet he claims child tax credit he works cash in hand in 2 shops shifts arranged so he can drop off and pick his 2 kids from school and college he wouldn't dream of his precious kids walking or using public transport he has been doing this for over 15 years at the moment he works about 40 hours a week for 7.50p an hour of course the employer benefits as well as he is paying less than the minimum wage
Gazzleberry I agree the weakness in the Lloyd's share price is not all down to Ukraine there are other factors such as inflationary pressures on household income cost of living crisis slowdown in housing market potential for higher rates of loan defaults low growth in the uk economy it would be very surprising to see Lloyd's hit 50p again before Christmas people
If you take into account the dividend payment Lloyd's is down about 3p since the Ukraine invasion all financial stocks such as legal and general Aviva Barclays are down by a similar amount or if not greater in percentage terms oil stocks bp and shell have held up very well since the invasion despite current weakness
Well everyman and his dog has been buying Lloyd's or topping up at 42p or lower while market dealer waits patiently for 39.5p
Brixton he doesn't want to go he hopes by staying on until a new leader is elected that the conservative party will have a change of heart the guy is deluded and dangerous
Heartbreaking to see Lloyd's post a good rise today amid all the political uncertainty
Well Johnson will not resign and will carry on the greased piglet may even get out of this latest predicament
Lti the change in rules will only apply if Johnson doesn't do the honorable thing and resign before the change In rules about confidence vote it is being used as a last resort
You didn't buy at sub 39p because if I recall you had already several sbs at 7300 pp at an average of 47p you then sold at a loss as the price fell only to see the price go back up past 47p again
Another day in paradise Lloyd's shareholders there was good support at 43p that has gone now 41p seems to be the support now if that goes maybe market trader gets his trade at 39.5p
Hardup every dog has its day lol
But think of the buybacks at a low price
What about the people who are fully invested who have bought in the 70s and 80s and have no spare money to invest you make it sound this investing lark is easy
You forgot Lloyd's 80p end of year chips
I have started early myself Bitburger pils
What are you drinking Brixton grey goose lol
Congratulations Brixton I think you will be celebrating later at wetherspoons
Also wants the premium bond limit raised to 80k I would imagine that twenty per cent of households don't even have 1000 pounds in savings I don't think they go to sleep at night worrying that the premium bond limit is 50k lol
Heartbreaking to see Lloyd's pass 43p today
50p Friday tomorrow is Friday and we all know what that means lol
