Mr A my original investment in Barclays was at 177p last Friday just looking to get back 650 pounds on a bad trade recently the deciding factor for me today was that Barclays was very strong today so I thought I am getting a good price from the highs of the day 177p I am down heavily buying at the peaks in Aviva pre covid and selling too cheaply now I am just trying to pinch a bit here and there hoping for a good day tomorrow as ftse futures looking good

Top up 8888 shares at 175.5p

All in jest falky at least you made a profit on that trade which is doing better than me and I know that on some of your trades you make a lot of money

I just think there was a short attack by hedge funds creating an opportunity for day traders and weekly traders to get in at about 171 and sell at 174 you even got a trader bought at 174 today and sold at 174.82 maybe he made enough for a happy meal at McDonald's

Barclays is running to stand still share price yesterday high 179 ftse down 46 points finished 170p today ftse up 77 points barclays share price 174p 5pence down from the high price of 179p

Problem is Mr a despite the success of the vaccine rollout the ftse 100 is always looking for an excuse to go lower just look at today ftse 100 about a 100 points swing from being about 50 points up to be 46 points down because the Dow Jones had a slight wobble of course we are going to have more days like this and if Barclays drops 5 to 6 p every time then we are looking at sub 160p

Pfen I also don't understand slight weakness in the dow jones and barclays capitulates about 3 billion knocked off mcap in 2 trading sessions despite good broker forecasts

Mr A you got it spot on with the rise in the ftse 100 and the rise in Barclays share price of 3p but unfortunately the gains did not last which is surprising considering the broker updates by berenberg and Goldman Sachs both of which are well over 2 pounds

Dow Jones up over 300 points ftse futures up 6 points pathetic

The Dow Jones is also down about 200 points so not helping

Ftse 100 is showing weakness because of the rise in cases of covid19 and deaths in India it is affecting market sentiment

I am down heavily in a position in a financial stock I made recently falky it is not nice but I am not selling made that mistake so many times only for that share to rise after I have sold hope sentiment changes soon for financial stocks
