The reality of gas exploration in Bangla…..depressing

The only way to increase gas supply is to increase gas extraction. Although there is talk of increased extraction, in reality it is a complex task. Organisations involved in gas extraction say that Bangladesh has experience drilling at most two to three wells per year. It is not possible to drill many wells in a short time just because it is desired. Therefore, the target for 2025 is unlikely to be met.

Investment-friendly policies shall be introduced to attract both domestic and international investments, while giving special incentives to encourage business with expatriate Bangladeshis. A planned and well-coordinated industrial infrastructure will be developed nationwide to support economic growth and create jobs resources.

Was also thinking last night the Teesta project is a $1 billion dollar project roughly much publicised much lauded and anticipated yet there’s a $15bln dollar mining contract guaranteed sat waiting for implementation on a $100bln dollar resource………I can see it going something like….you let us mine phulbari and we will throw in Teesta??……..with all the resources in the overburden Teesta is just a side order to the size of the resources extraction?

I wonder if Tarique has been lobbied by Gcm/power china/tang while he’s been in London this past few years?……
