Phulbari C&P24 Jul 2025 18:49
Just a little recap of the project and potential going forward, quoted as closest ever of coming to fruition.
Ask yourself Is there any significance in the bb,s being swamped by multi alias posters on days when the share price rises rapidly??….these people blanket the bb,s in any tripe related to renewables they can get their hands on,dates insignificant even removing links to posts.
Then on days like today when it’s quiet not a single post related to renewables or tree hugging old articles, are these renewable articles so important on blue days and not on Red days?…..the agenda is very clear to me and typically of a rapidly rising prospect on aim.
Phulbari Coal and Power project
The project will be part of the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.
The Energy Minister has discussed the extraction of coal through open pit mining at the Phulbari site stating that there was a $15bn investment already on the table to realise the project.
PowerChina, having signed a MOU to develop the mine, including removal of the overburden, is also working with the government on implementing the nearby Teesta River reclamation project, it has been speculated that overburden from Phulbari would be utilised in that process.
As with the Phulbari project discussions are ongoing between stakeholders, future partners and the government. China has stated it will expand Rail projects in Bangladesh ready for the Teesta Project, doing so could also facilitate the transportation of Phulbari coal to existing coal power plants.

The recent demonstration by the Government and its Ministry that domestic coal must be extracted and that the proposed Phulbari coal mine is a big factor is delivering the necessary coal supply, enhances our confidence that the Project is poised to move forward.
