RE: The Bangladeshi Energy Minister quote that caused the stir…..31 Aug 2025 11:56
Just a recap of Fridays commotion, this article was difficult to post as it contains very positive information relating to domestic coal exploration in Bangladesh, see the timings of the energy document estimated release, combine it with the early February elections where a pro domestic mineral resource govt is expected to takeover and we have a recipe for an interesting few months
Good luck everyone
Energy minister Muhammad Fouzel does his very best English in this interview but it’s not brilliant…….
The quote below that caused traders to go mental reporting the article 👍
“So, that way either way if we get more gas so we'll have more gas and also if not then we'll be able to import more gas. So that's on the um and then we also have some coal buried under the ground. So we are also preparing a document that will allow the next government to uh proceed with coal extraction. So there is some debate between open shaft mining versus deep mining. So, those are the issues that we leave to the elected government and then uh instead of uh so we have to rely on you can't put all our eggs in one basket. So we'll have electricity we'll have gas we'll have,we also have coal fired power plant now we are trying to improve the logistics of those and then trying to bring down the import coal import price and then we have solar energy into the into the plan”
It’s a long interview about mixed electricity generation ,the transcript from 41min 26secs is the domestic coal area
