I do wonder whether they really want a 100mln people to step out of poverty really?……the country is one of the last cheap labour areas in the world and a lot of developed nations have happily squeezed the people for their own benefit…….not to mention this premier Yunus who thrives in poverty……..there would be no need for Grammeen phones or loans if Bangladesh was allowed to do what every other developed country did years ago with only a care for itself……the green lobby halts development,they want us all to go back to Neolithic principles………Bangladesh must stand up to this lobby….sadly Yunus it entrenching them deeper……bring on the next govt asap

Up over 6%……has anything changed??…..no…..the story is the same as a month ago…..GCM is positioned strategically better for Phulbari mining than at anytime in the last decade…….pennies are for day trading…..the pounds are for the serious retail investors……yea it may take a few yr to get there but this seriously could be life changing……

Another thing is that China wants to invest heavily in textiles and solar in Bangladesh soon. In this regard, I have seen on my own, that they want to bring investment to Bangladesh very soon. I want to work from two sides at once. One is BTMA and the other is BCCCI. This discussion should be done deeply. If China invests in the industry here, it may hamper us because we currently have a shortage of gas and electricity for our own needs. Therefore I would suggest that China should enter into joint ventures with our existing factories. It would take three years to build a new factory, but if they invest in the existing factories that are not running properly due to lack of investment, the result will be profitable for both parties.

Yunus isn’t a politician and never will be,if Trump gets in the driving seat Yunus will be gone with his US democratic ideals…..whether bangla will be ready for transition will remain to be seen…..I now believe the lack of timeline for elections hinges on Yunus democratic chums……China sit patiently waiting to pick up the pieces imho

Good post….and I will add if Trump gets to the White House again he won’t be entertaining green farts like Yunus……US elections will dictate timing of Bangladesh elections imho……Republicans get in Yunus will have a roadmap for elections up straight away……Democrats ,he will hang about for his Capitol Hill chums to take what they like……lucrative LNG contracts have already gone to US suppliers…..did they tender for those?…..I’m not sure

Thing is…the farmers scratching an existence on the phulbari proposal get paid up very well apparently,either to come out of farming altogether including a new property…..those that want to farm,get paid for the time of the mine and land returned afterwards output 3x previous apparently!…….so as it turns out the massive protests last time phulbari was proposed were from activists paid by ministers on the take from imported fuel 😂….no honestly this is unbelievable what’s unraveling??
