Cannot understand the mentality of the govt…..a brand new coal plant comes online in December and they are faffing around scratching their heads sourcing imports with a struggle yet there’s hundreds of yrs of high quality coal under their feet!!…….nuts

Following the previous government’s policy, the interim government has to rely on import of LNG, Coal and fuel oil to feed the mega power plants of the country.

According to the Power Cell, a mega power generation project with a capacity of 1,320 MW is going to be added to the national grid which will burn imported coal.

The ultra super critical technology coal-fired power plant has set up at Kalapara in Patuakhali is now awaiting the approval of the Power Division and Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) to start production. The power plant is scheduled to be connected to the national grid in

December.

Bangladesh interim government revokes credentials of 50 journalists

The Bangladesh government has revoked the press credentials of dozens of journalists in a move that critics call an “alarming” form of censorship.

The interim Information Ministry in the past week scrapped the accreditation of over 50 journalists.

Over 20 senior journalists had their credentials revoked on October 30, and another 30 suffered the same fate on Sunday, local media reported.

The policymakers of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) had been demanding for quite some time that elections be held within a rational timeframe. They are now thinking of showing no more restraint on this matter.

They would seek a roadmap for the 13th parliamentary elections from the interim government within the next 2-3 months. Otherwise, the party policymakers would think of announcing programmes demanding the elections in March-April next year.

I’m sure there’s something cooking……you don’t get to be on this planet for 80yrs promoting green ideas and not attract businesses that promote,manufacture and install these products……..amazingly it’s a risk and as we know solar contracts are only as good as the parchment they are written on……Yunus tore up existing contracts only a couple of months ago……obviously had his own cowboys lined up?……question is would you tender for a 30yr solar contract written by a cuckoo govt that’s tenure could end any day??
