It finally looks like Bangladesh is taking the approach that has made china great…….producing Solar from a coal power baseload…..that will get them to that renewable target quicker than borrowing billions!

As I mentioned last week it’s no coincidence the injection of solar manufacturing by China coincides with phulbari being moved into gear…..the country has an unstable power/energy sector and it would be madness investing billions into that renewable sector unless the baseload power is reliant and cheap…….

Bangladesh has some fantastic super modern coal power plants but also some inefficient old plant’s still being subsidised…..that has to be tightened up and cleaned up all part and parcel of the energy plan fora future government….

This popped up while I was browsing earlier…….some bright spark on advfn said China would contravene its UN pledge to not build any more overseas coal power plants so phulbari wouldn’t happen……I laugh in the face of that crap as China has never committed to that pledge to the UN ever and is actually ramping up coal plant development abroad 😂…….even if a bolt of lightning struck the Chinese leader and he had a relapse and said that’s it no more coal plants that would never affect the huge coal fields development by Chinese contractors……..

For anyone really interested in the effort GCM and it’s partners have put in with this project the GCM website is worth a visit,it’s phenomenal the reports and surveys to even have the compensation packages ready for the owners of the land to be developed…….I’m lead to believe these packages are very generous and the land owners are very happy for this prospect to happen,there will obviously always be a green swathe of protesting but I feel it won’t be anywhere near the ministry generated protests of 2006……..the interim government is reviving these mining schemes and yet i have not read any articles as to the adverse effects of the projects…..I think the world is a much more sensible place now and countries/governments are realising fossil fue has a big part to play over the coming years……
