circa 3 weeks to go before we find out what deal has been cobbled together by the BoD and the banks...am assuming a deal will be put together. only question is whether shareholders take the hit for the BoD's incompetence as per, or they actually seek to create value for us. that's what's holding me back from adding to my current holding and explains why it's currently stagnating. we will either see a large bounce or a fall - don't see it staying where it is. if it's a fall due to the BoD screwing shareholders over, I have no idea how far? perhaps IF there's a placing then to that price point.
talks on finalising a deal are expected before the 26th April. I guess it's a straight toss up between a positive or a negative outcome. I would suggest positive and a real boost to the share price - I would say that, I guess, as I do have a small holding. I can't foresee a totally negative outcome, although I guess there is the possibility of a small placing to reduce debts as part of the relaxation of covenants. there is that possibility , or perhaps the sale of some property to reduce debts? anyone else got any views? I think the business is pretty sound - they just need to come to an agreement on these covenants. from here I see the downside as limited, and in the medium to long term this is surely a decent buy at this price.
have thought that a permanent agreement is by far the most likely outcome here. perhaps the market doesn't like to be kept waiting?
Tell me about it!
haha! no, lost a bundle on AMFW previously. refinancing completed - should see an uplift today? oil holding gains currently
taken. not enormous, I grant you, but good to take them as they start to add up. leaving money in a couple of others will hopefully bring me the medium to longer term gains. still think with a recovery in the oil market by 2017(?) this could see some serious uplift for the more committed investor.
under £200 net from a trade buying in yesterday and selling this morning. certainly not life changing, but for the time in ok for me, and I finally made some money out of AMFW, rather than lose it. will look to get in on any retrace, but good luck to the longer term holders too. the results due out on the 10th might help to rerate the stock. was looking at the trading update from the 5th November earlier, and it said that refinancing of the debt would take place in the next six months, so should be by the end of the April. I imagine the market will be relieved to see this and should send it higher?
It has had a good , steady recovery from the lows and good consolidation today. Hopefully it will continue over the next few weeks into 3 figures again. A real spur would be a successful renegotiation of the banking covenants. Famous last words but I don't see this being an issue...
And a new lower close. It didn't go lower than this when oil was in the 20s. Must say , this stock behaves more like an AIM stock than a 250. Or is it 350 now?! The algos certainly seem to have utter control over this share. As you said, kenj, it's not just an oil play - it has many areas of expertise . Feel that by late 2017 you could be looking again at a £8/9 price?
the 10%...it does seem utterly detached from its peers in the way it seriously underperforms them. the next low I can see on the chart is 282ish in august 2006. I wonder if that's where they want to take it now? wouldn't surprise me in the least, even if that does give a market cap. of £1.1 billion. usually confident of seeing some sort of bounce from positions like this, but wouldn't surprise me if it closes 10% or more down. remind me why I tried to trade this again? haha
have you tried http://www.cgtcalculator.com/ ? am sure there are others. surprised that more traders don't see AMFW as worthwhile - it's certainly volatile
is 328, so looking like that will be hit imminently. no idea if that will act as support - could be gone by the time I have finished writing this?! certainly looks like they want to take it down 10%, if only for a few minutes?
just out of interest, put off by what exactly? the complexity of matching trades? I use a great free website that matches all your trades and works everything out. you just need to enter your trade data on a spreadsheet.
Hi Kenj, you do get the impression from reading these boards that lots of people haven't got a clue about the 30 day rule, don't declare any gains, and just see what they can get away with . this share is crazy with its movements
results are due out on Thursday 10th march, so should provide direction for those with a medium to longer term perspective.
like you, Kenj, gone in solely for a trade this time. was invested before and got stung, so having observed the 30 day rule, bought in today around 345. this moves up and down so much that it'll hopefully provide a quick bit of profit.
take my entire holding (20k) one minute ago at 73.73. seem keen to acquire - market size is pretty small in CMBN, so wanting 20k in one go gets my attention
be in auction?
what news have we been anticipating? have I missed something? are you referring to a possible buy out?
today? what makes you say that? I'm quite happy to see it consolidate at this level for a few days, hopefully for a leg higher in the next 2-3 weeks.
