Recent volatility certainly suggests to me that someone is engaging in the dark arts. Up 16% earlier in the week and down 7% today alone.

I am waiting for the spike up but don’t expect it any time soon, so best not to look at the SP too often. I may set an order to buy more at under 10p though?

Like father like son I suspect, but we might be surprised and find that Lee’s passing provides opportunity for a change of direction for Samsung?

They will inevitably be called out at some point, and may find themselves ostracised from involvement in sensitive tech contracts with the West. When that happens it will hurt the SK economy.

If you are listening Lee Junior, best that Samsung pays its dues and plays straight in future.

I would not have imagined that shares would be available under 10p again. Quite sure a good number of stop losses have been triggered in recent weeks and it will be mostly the due hard PI remaining. Bought a few more again today and by pure chance I am in profit on those already (still well underwater).

Expect more volatility in the absence of news.

I am pleased that Brian Tenner is focussing on the bottom line and to make a profit independently of the Samsung case.

The markets might have been expecting to learn we had a sizeable order to announce (unfortunately not) hence today’s discount.

‘Onwards and backwards’ perhaps but I shall be sticking with NANO, at least until the outcome of the Samsung case. If the SP goes below 10p, I might even buy more.

Those who don’t have cash to participate in the rights issue, like those in retirement, will find the value of their shares reduced well below the point they can expect break even for many years, if at all. I feel for them and sad to see RR behaving like it is on AIM but having thought long and hard about my own holding, I consider the best way forward is to take up my full entitlement. There may be selling pressure to get out but as most shares are owned by II they cannot all jump at once for obvious reasons.

It is even possible the SP may find a new level well above the RI offer price, perhaps on the back of a decent trading update from a non aero division, or an or increase in flights. I know many will not agree but potential for a decent profit on the new shares?

Good to see that filing of patents continues. I suspect we shall need to wait a while before we have money to fully develop the best ones but I believe it will be secured.

On the results matter - it is possible BT may have a pleasant surprise for us. I recollect that one customer pays 12 months in arrears. It could be Careware but it would be nice if it was Wah Hong.

If results are dire then the SP will probably drop but I am not sure it should make a material difference, as the market already knows how far the cash runway extends?

Looking forward to a good news delivery of some sort from NANO at some point. Perhaps then, we shall be able to do more helping out by eating out and even buy something British made and more substantial?

I am sure we have only a tiny fraction of what we need to form sensible conclusions, and the knowledge gap will start decreasing only when the trial starts. However, I suspect we shall be kept guessing right up to the settlement or verdict I am afraid.

It is right that what really matters to NANO is the East Texas Court case but Samsung still needs its government onside, and in turn they will want their biggest money earner to keep expanding. And of course Samsung, which has stood accused of the occasional bribe is used to getting its own way. It seems like it has done so again, so we should not be counting on the righteous in SK Just yet.

If Samsung was going to do the right thing it would have done it already. My guess is that it will settle only when it has to and for as little as possible, so we should let battle commence and trust in our lawyers, I think we shall be the winners, eventually.

I hope so SL as Samsung needs to do the right thing and pay up. The cynical side of me thinks “... easing regulations..” might mean supporting Samsung (a large part of the SK economy) by turning a blind eye to patent theft?

Thanks Hawi. The outcome of that Markman hearing likely to be important if not crucial, especially for Samsung, as their defence is built on the sole contention that NANO filed its patents incorrectly.

I do not view recent posts as negative SL, just an airing of matters that we should each consider in our investment decisions.

I would prefer NANO could make a commercial success of itself in some field, rather than be saddled to the outcome of Samsung litigation. I am not sure why that cannot be achieved and hopefully BT will deliver. Entirely reasonable too that BT should be given time to settle before making his keynote speech - lets hope for a rousing one.

Certainly, I wonder why we hear nothing of Wah Hong any more? So many potential customers provide the expectation of sales, only to disappear quietly into the night. Failure to implement RoHS, together with OEM retooling costs for C.F. Production dOES not help.

It is possible Samsung has been doing its best to sabotage NANO but there is a credibility issue in terms of commercialisation of Display, and history repeated itself with IR and Apple (and now Merck?).

I had hoped BT would be quicker to reveal his plans for NANOs future and do wonder if the strategy is now to hibernate, whilst the Samsung dispute plays out and also to quietly develop the ST Micro product. I hope not but increasingly, it feels that way. If LO had not remained so supportive I would have been more concerned. No reason to move on for me but intensely disappointing that Careware is our only success. What about other applications such as in car Display, or vertical farming? Surely it is possible to make a success of it somewhere, even if we need to sell CFQD at breakeven to do it.

And no doubt our government will continue to support Samsung (and others) which simultaneously snuff out the best of British, whilst also benefiting from large UK government contracts.

It is very good to have a respected distributor in Gehring-Montgomery, although foodstuff manufacturers still need to buy. They obviously see potential in the product but orders needed for revenue of course.

Thanks entelon. Good to hear the view of a chemist and as you say particularly interesting that NANO Patents include the rod shape QD. That would ensure still birth of QNED or at least its deferral until patents expire. I think we would all dearly love to see Samsung’s case derailed in a big way, and quickly.

With Samsung’s defence resting entirely on the technicalities of legitimate patent filing, the case may not take as long as it otherwise might do to try and settle?

Who knows BBD what they need it for but the might have been keeping a little something back until they knew what Samsung had to offer. Interesting that Samsung insists on a 5 day extension to its next deadline. Don’t they remember they have already had an extra 90 days from May and of course the years before that too (lol).

As you say, they may need to amend the complaint to reflect the nature of Samsung’s defence?
