I’m sorry you bought at £1.27 Paul, fingers crossed for you. My feeling is gold is heading back to around £2100, so a slow drop for Centamin. But y’know, no matter how you paint it, it’s all guesswork in the end.
Steve,
I admire your skill with the data. Unfortunately I don’t have your talent. I sold a couple of tranches around £1…averaging 10%. I bought more at £1.04 and sold at £1.11 for 6%. I completely missed the rise from there, to £1.30. It felt too risky for me on the rise, if I get caught out high up, she might take a long time to get back there. I prefer a falling stock. I’m a medium term holder, I don’t really play the charts or data, just ride on gut feeling and if she drops under, I usually won’t bail, I’m in until she rises again. I guess patience is my play and not overstretching my bet. Casino Centamin is a risky business, I’m a bit wary of Doropo costs and institutional selling is obvious. Let’s see how she goes.
Well done Pam, you’ve made a nice big profit. You could take it, or risk it for more. Sept 2021, I tried to persuade a friend to sell his crypto. He held and lost all his profit. He still held and is back up. He’s a holder and sadly he may also miss out on a second large profit this time around. You can always buy back Pam. DYO. All the best.
I’m out until the inevitable fallback. Back when gold is around £2050 and miners fall. Many have hung on Centamin coat tails and got burned. If you’ve made a nice little profit, my advice for ears that can hear, let go of emotion, take your profit and be happy. Be patient. Long term, Doropo costs will someday suck the life out of this share and provide another good entry point.
I hear this as a buoyant and positive affirmation from Martin Horgan that all is well in Doropo with a FID at the end of the year (around 7 min mark). He sounds very upbeat about the project, feasibility finished mid year, then permit applications and renewals preceding FID, what’s not to like!

If they’ve forward borrowed from Q1 production to hit last years 450,000 ounces, then I guess we can expect Q1 figures to be only average production, with a big jump on Q2. Or perhaps, they will they just average out the ‘borrow’ over each quarter. Thoughts?
