TDAD, yes the demography of Scotland will change dramatically if there is a "yes" vote.... We will all be off.... Along with many of the wealth creators, entrepreneurs, and higher tax payers..... Leaving the elderly, the unemployed, and the public sector employees.... Wee Nippy will then have a major problem!

@shorn, you are correct, and Dubai have introduced a new 5 year renewable retirement visa. I am in the same situation as you and djingle.

My two sons both live and work in Dubai, and are both (managing) directors and major shareholders in their respective businesses....they pay no tax at source, Vat, in so far as it applies is at 5%( and on much fewer items).....I am looking at the retirement visa as well, and while djingle says he "is done with this government", I have the added spectre, of a further independence referendum, and the possibility (as a Scot) of having to live in an independent Scotland run by a left wing/Marxist regime!....can you imagine the tax implications of that??...... The alternative of life in Dubai when properly retired, in the sun, and a low or virtually zero tax environment has a VERY strong appeal!!

Or depending on the manifestation of the arousal...lol
