already up 2% in NASDAQ pre-market this morning, over $1 premium to the issue price - a very Bullish sign!

$25 price explains the big drop yesterday. My bet is this will recover up towards $30 in the next couple of weeks. There was a goo recovery within a week of the last offering.

Another buying opportunity I will not miss ;o-)

not all of my wealth is invested in Chi-Med, although quite a large proportion! I am very confident in the future and will be invested until 2028.

Today's 10% drop is typical, but 10% = $390m which makes no sense given the fact we are raising $110m so even though the market considers it dilutive, wiping out almost 4 x the placing is madness

I expect this will rocket up in the coming days

interesting, NASDAQ pre-market now only -0.8% so this could easily go very positive today on that basis

I wonder if M&A activity is close given the fact we have cash, cash equivalents and resources of $384m so do not have any immediate requirement. I assume a large molecule acquisition is possible very shortly.

The last ADR offering was announced on the 25th Oct 2017 at which point there was a small drop. the price was announced on the 26th and the offering closed on the 30th. 2 weeks later the ADR price was up circa 10%.
We can expect a series of RNS over the coming few days as this is a shelf registration so will be completed very quickly.

Unlike other sectors who carry out dilutive offerings to keep the lights on, Biopharma Investors understand the need for lots of cash to develop such a large late stage pipeline. Dilutive? Yes, but not for long given the approvals coming down the line. I think the Surufatinib -p NDA announcement this week will give Investors even more confidence.

It'll be interesting to see if the Underwriters take the additional allocation like they did last time. If they do, that is a very positive sign for other Investors.

I will be buying another tranche on Friday.

Despite the very welcome recent rise in the share price we are still at the same level we were in Oct 2017 so have a long way to go to get back to the peak we enjoyed in Jan 2018. The company's valuation seems to over-extend and any bad news forces it to drop significantly. I'd like to see a period of steady growth now (20% p.a would be welcome and is probably realistic given the revenue growth predictions). Here's hoping.

More fantastic progress on the pipeline and great news that, like the ep study, this p study will also stop early due to data and the results exceeding expectations. Surufatinib is forecast to deliver peak sales of $169m in Net alone in China, we also have BTC to come, plus global Pncreatic net. The Company is really starting to deliver, which will give Investors great conifdence as we put 2019 behind us.

Headwinds - my assessment:-

1. HHHL/CKH secondary listing overhang - cleared
2. U.S. - China trade war - partially cleared - phase 1 deal in place
3. Hong Kong riots - ongoing but appear to be receding
4. Delay to HK IPO - looks likely will happen at some point or M & A
5. Worldwide markets volatility - cleared
6. Trump China ADR de-listing threat - gone
7. Negative Chinese sentiment by U.S. and its Investment Community - receding

Most of these are now gone or going, but there are now many many tailwinds, not least the burgeoning late stage pipeline, probably 3 China NDA's in 3 years and now the possibility of non-core asset disposal and M&A which is always something to get potential Investors interested.

It seems that 2020 could be Chi-Med's most significant year in its history.

A very interesting article from Bio-Century yesterday on patents in the US-China trade deal and its implications for Biopharma.

"China has agreed to implement patent linkage and patent term extension as part of the “phase one” trade deal signed Wednesday by President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He.

If China enforces the patent linkage provisions, the deal could be a major victory for multinational and Chinese manufacturers of innovative medicines."

A wonderful and very bullish presentation from Christian yesterday, 2020 is looking to be the biggest year in the Company's history. I agree Jatw, and the large molecule piece surprised me too. If we get Savolitinib NDA over the line that is 3 NDA's from 3 leading drug candidates in 3 years, proof that this Company can and will continue to deliver for patients and Investors. The biggest prize of all still appears to be a global NDA for Savolitinib. I was also enthused by the comments around PRCC and Chi-Med and AZ still appear to have an appetite to develop that further.

On a valuation front I hope and expect the Company to get back to the $40/ADR it achieved in Jan 2018 at some point.
