Total are company number: 05354727, they've recently acquired a 2nd shop previously occupied by the recently folded "Outlaw Pro" - yet another outfit that put a spanner in the works and spent a lot of money getting it wrong.

It's difficult to see a rosy future for angling retail at the moment in the UK. The likes of "Total Fishing Tackle" are regularly retailing top brands at little above trade+VAT, Go Outdoors (Fishing Republic) are similar and on top offer a price beating 10% off any advertised in-stock prices, Ebay fronted discounts for the many many smaller retailers on the Ebay platform.....then there's unregulated competition (raffle) web sites which have now grown so big that the amount of brand new product available for nothing (or at least 2nd hand prices if the winners sell on their winnings) in the current market is unprecedented. The brands themselves seem mostly uninterested in how their products are being devalued. I'm not sure how long fishing tackle retailers' cash reserves can survive like this selling at miniscule margins whilst having relatively large overheads in what is still (and always has been) a niche market. Another blow yet to come in April with increased NI contributions and increase in minimum wage.....
