Its not in the Judges interest to triple to the company and shut it down, 10,000+ peoples jobs and the taxes it pays is more important. don't think PFC will get a deferred payment but the fine looks about right.
PFC is removed from the agent and I suppose a good lawyer could indicate although guilty under the law, they had no knowledge. Interesting day.

Anyone who has ever been to court and accepts a guilty plea usually has scope of what the outcome will be, as agreed with the other side before the judge even sits down. If you plead guilty the fine will be x y z and these other factors will be dropped. Usually a win win for both sides, well nearly. if the case is in the morning and if agreements have been made this will be over by the courts lunch time. I mean what is there to debate about, we plead guilty to this, defence lawyer does his bit, PF does their speech and judge does his already agreed judgement. Case closed, over to ADNOG to lift the suspension, contract awarded. Various other bids coming thick and fast. Based on RR and AMF, im going for a low ball fine of no more than £100mill.

Good call this morning! I usually try to trade but its not been working lately, just going to hold for a few months. If it does rise and the divi restarts, be a great price to hold onto for a really long time. if I had sold this morning at 170p, we would be sitting around 200p right now.

if the SP opened at 161 no one would have been surprised, in fact I was surprised it went up to 173. Feels like a sharp rise the gradual fall to allow MM to panic some into selling. Obv not the ones who took advantage of the morning rise. looking at it prob go down to 157ish.

PFC was 370p Wood Group 421p, anyone who has followed PFC over the years know there has been a pattern even before Wood Group purchase of Amec Foster Wheeler, PFC has suspended the divi to conserve cash which in turn along with the SFO investigation and fine decayed the sentiment. Add in the cost savings and I am sure Schroders increased their holding by 6% recently. All heads to SP going up, in my tiny opinion.

Furryboats, I don't agree. The SP has been higher than today within the last year. only been in the doldrums due to the SFO, this is a great stock to buy and hold. Petrofac has a great reputation on the ground out with the SFO investigation. This has all been pre planned, deals have been made and I suspect some sort of input between gov. I would not be surprised if the fine is medium to low, and UAE un suspends Petrofac and an award is made. When that happens and the divi is restored, this will climb and climb. I feel any fine less than 50million and SFO costs of around £10 million is a good result to lift the grey cloud what was SFO
