To a certain degree, yes. Bearing in mind that shares are based on future expectations as opposed to immediate income, it could be expected that a sustained increase could be seen. The effectiveness of the vaccine as above and beyond expectations, with no current safety concerns which means that the end of COVID looks much more feasible. That’s not to say that it’s over now, but realistically we know it has an end point. It won’t be today or tomorrow that life is back to normal, but neither do we need everyone vaccinated for this to be eradicated. At 90% effective, once 50-60% of the population are either vaccinated or have recovered from COVID, there is considerably lower risk of transmission.
