Until there is a better cheaper way to test for variants then pcr it is for all travel. The latest framework tender is for the next 2-4 years and includes pcr testing on all four lots. Pcr will run alongside lft no doubt.

You could also say that if they use vaccination passports then they won't need lft at all for travel, just a pcr on return to check for variants.

Pcr tests will be needed for everyone I'm afraid. They are needed to track variants as lft can't do that atm. You can get pcr tests from Boots at £65 and even £20 if you go with Tui. Everyone returning from anywhere will need a pcr.
