During the financial crash /08, lloy had been assisted by the Gov using Tax payers monies. The LLoy BB had been very active as you can imagine; however there had been a tone of the bb for many years by a few that none shareholder could not comment on the BB as they did not hold any share, this often reared it’s ugly head and the bb descended…

Fast forward to /20 and we have Lloy in the spotlight again, Brexit, no deal, etc, C-19, ECT…and Lloy now has the responsibly of administering Gov back loan, which we ALL contributed or will do so in the near future. IF banks had been properly managed, prior to /08, had adequate buffers to cope with calamities, As Warren would say, then hey, but they did not.

Therefore with the above in mind None shareholders have as much right / justification to post as any other shareholder, back in /08 and now in /20 as they are Tax payers and have probably contributed gov back scheme in the form of Tax….

So let’s not have this this attitude that you have to buy to justify why one posts on lloy bb. As some are just use bum fighting rules to question so called none shareholders…

Theosus, i was relating to prior C-19 pandemic with regards to bail outs...however recent events have shown us that some businesses can justify paying a divi..

I think adding pressure to the banks NOT to pay a divi was only right as they will, in most cases, always get Gov aid...

Theosus, good points however big busenesses dont get bailed out whereas banks do get bailed out or get Gov support...

Disagree.... They had been pressued into paying a Divi i agree but also the had guaranteed gov back loan scheme and are using Lloy as a vehicle to administer this process and lloy will no doubt be handsomely rewarded if the majority of the Gov loans are successful even if they are not i'm sure lloy will be getting a fee.

The danger for lloy is the economy, exposure to housing market, Brexit, No deal, all of which had been in the mix prior to C-19. I'm not for one minute stating lloy is a good investment under the current climate but it can be a good trade...
