I think this statement from the article sums up the current thinking...

"...What you’re doing here by releasing Tenet, as slow as turnstiles are, is so noble, it’s a loss well worth taking. Exhibition won’t forget about it and they love what you’re doing. Remember, what movie theaters hate the most is when a studio sends a film to streaming or PVOD; that’s the biggest stab in the back."

It's a little ridiculous to assume that the attendance numbers are/should be comparable to any other time over the last 50 years.

Statements by Mooky indicate that the business is operating in a stable manner given the circumstances. Moving the dates of release is not necessarily a bad thing. If theatrical windows are extended now it is creating opportunity to wean people back in to old normal and minimise movie 'waste'.

It's a 'go try it and find out' situation. Friends and family are doing it. They're saying it's safe, so it must be.

Move other releases like Wonder Woman... Let the crowds get use to returning to cinema. Don't rush, play the game.

Each movie is like it's own little trading update for CINE because the success of a film at the box office is translated as earnings for the business.

There's not many places you can get a rough idea of the businesses performance based on numbers that are monitored near enough daily.

More movies, more monitoring.

I sold back when Mulan got pulled and it then went from 38(?) to 32. I hedged against my loss so not that bad for me, but I missed on the big jump up days later.

A big title getting pulled was part of my list of markers to pull out. I do not regret what I did, but had I held I would've been slightly better off. C'est la vie.
