An MM is employed by a financial firm. He applies to and is appointed by HUR to make a market in HUR shares guaranteeing to buy or sell the quote published for the 'block' amount of shares. 'Block ' could be, say 10,000 shares. Even if everyone is selling he is obliged to trade at the quoted buy price. This enables there to be a 'market' in the shares at the quoted price. At the same time he is obliged to sell the same quantity at the quote sell price. He therefore provides liquidity in the shares; so a punter is not left high and dry with no one to sell to. The punter may not like the price, but unlike the MM, he is not obliged to trade at the quote. The MM can carry stock on his 'book' for as long as he likes, and there is no limit( unless requiring declaration) to the amount he may carry, long or short. He may hold a paper profit or loss for a long time. That's his pleasure or problem. He will sell into demand and buy into sellers.

Gary - You are right - as I cry into my beer! The MMs are slowly but surely building up a nice huge stockpile to sell into when this SP takes off. That could be 6 months, or a year away. I don't think that most people realise the tenacity or the cunning of the MMs. They do make HUGE sums of money(tens of millions) for their employer firms and thus for themselves. I know one, and the mind boggles at the length they will legally go to, in order to achieve their goal. All part of the 'great game'.

I wonder what Dr. T , et al, thinks of the share price? Do they think its manipulation?
Perhaps they don't care; as it's not relevant to their eventual target outcome of the EPS, when it happens.
Or, do they fret with the worry beads, like us?

The HUR management are not hype-merchants or trumpet blowers. They just get on with the job at hand, and have to patience to see things through. Something a lot of us are lacking. This BB just gets people agitated and confrontational. The oil-tech boys just love demonstrating their knowledge which is useful to those that understand such detail.
The RNS is the true source of what's going on. The rest is drivel, speculation, and conjecture.
We, (I included), lack patience. Again, tell me a better share?
Buy, sell, or hold. That's all you have to do.
