I think Trump will help the Shale 'Bidness'( as JR used to say). Texas is where its at, and Texas is Republican. Trump's economic stock market boom has died, and so now he really needs all the support he can get to win the next coming election. Politics is going to play a big part in Shale Oil's survival.

Genghis - With all respect, I don't think you fully understand the concept and purpose of hedging. I t not to speculate or gamble. It is to take that out of the equation. It is to 'lock in' an acceptable price which the owner of the commodity is happy with. Not to expose it to 'unforeseen events'.
Nearly all producers, sellers and buyers of commodities , hedge. It is regarded as prudent.

MCB55 - I accept that. It is just so frustrating that HUR, in SP terms, has hit nearly every perfect storm it can. I can only measure my investment in SP terms, because that is what I have invested. I would think most here are well under water under their necks, as am I. In percentage terms a recovery back to 45p is a big ask, as I have said before. 500% p+!
