Thursday, MMmmm.. after testing the first target they will be dropping in casing and cementing it before proceeding, as it took 1 week for the 55m conductor casing, and I dont have a clue how long it will take to cement the intermediate casing to around 500m, I am going to guess a week thursday :)

The depth has been estimated by studying the features in the seismic studies, the sections show the depth in time not meters. Since they estimate the depth to be 400m, and the section shows 600ms or 0.6sec, that is the time the seismic signal takes to travel down and back from the target.
The top target looks about 150m thick, so my guess its 400m to the target, may be a little more , and another 100 or so to its base.. The test tools would have to pass through the target to take measurements..

DM says the top target is at the base of the river bed. The river bed has been split into upper and lower. The lower is where the strata transitions from the red sandstone below to lake bed sediments above. At the base I take to mean under, so in the red sandstone or otherwise in the transitional area where formation is loose .
The bottom target DM says is in the karoo which is white sandstone.

the RNS states..
"Due to the poorly consolidated nature of the Lake Bed Formation encountered at Tai-1, it will not be possible to perform drill stem tests on any pay zones identified in the shallow strata in this well."
This could mean newly found, as in that 4-6m zone, not so much the 1st target especially if its in the red sandstone, rather than the loose sediment..

Open hole completion means that the reservoir is completely exposed during completion of a straight or horizontal well. There are two types of procedures for open hole completion.

1. After drilling to the top of the oil reservoir, the intermediate casing is run in and the well is cemented......

I miss so much out when there is so much info in an RNS, answering your question I have just read the answer to my question, which I asked the BB after reading the RNS, I blame my age..

Looks like its changed from the interview, todays RNS ...
Drilling will continue to the Base of the Lake Bed Formation, anticipated to be at 400 metres. At this point the Company will then commence wireline logging to gain additional information on the formation reservoir characteristics and identify any potential pay zones.

This answers my question, suggesting its open hole drilling to the base of the 1st target,
After logging the Lake Bed Formation, this section of the hole will be cased and drilling will continue to Basement

And with your timings, I guess wire-line analysis is happening at the moment :)

I think skittish should write the RNS's, I got a lot more out of that :)
Just been reading page 91, Atmospheric Helium concentration is 5.24 ppm..
So for a depth of 4-6 meters helium persisted at >10000ppm(1%), so more than 1900x atmospheric levels
Max reading was 22,084ppm (2.2%) more than 4200 atmospheric levels

Ta, your too chilled, works out about the same but will be up early in the morning just in case :)

@DeepblueDiver a question,,RNS mentioned open hole drilling, 24 hour 'PQ' size open hole drilling operations to commence from approximately 5pm local time on Saturday 19th JuneJust guess work here, took 1.5 hours to drill 15m, from 55m-70m..Unless they need to add/cement more casing could continue "open hole" drilling to the first target, so could be wire line testing any day now..??

I think she has a wicked look about her as she hits him with those questions...

Xerxes, I think this one is a better bet, excited at the moment after reading the RNS and listening to DM's talk on Tai seismic..Interpretation sounds spot on so far..thats if I understand it..

I think, and only think, as have only been educated by this BB, that RNS is indicating gas was detected around 70m but not above, suggesting gas pockets trapped in the shallow sediments, another +330m below is our first standout structure..

It shows a good interpretation of the subsurface so far, being correct on the not so obvious features, and not the stand out targets(as DM suggested), those we have not yet reached..

When the OTC volume passes 1 million will be a sign they are catching on...

What I am thinking about is what was said in the last investor meeting,
the comments about the seismic section for Tai and todays RNS.
It shows a good interpretation of the subsurface so far, being correct on the not so obvious features, and not the stand out targets(as DM suggested)..

I believe both sides, last week one of mine for no known reason made significant gains over a number of days with low volumes then fell back, no news, low volume
