when it was at 18-25p even Netflix was not sure on their own survival due to covid. Infact each company's existence was threatnened last year due to covid and not just CINE's

Smalltrader made a comment that Netflix didn’t know if They were going to survive lockdown, I was pointing out that all through last year Netflix were making a fortune from people being at home

For a start they still have social distanceing at cineworld,. you will not get a full screen even at peak time on the back of a 1.4 million dollar weekend

FACE COVERINGS

In our cinemas in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Jersey, face coverings continue to be mandatory for both customers and employees. In our cinemas in England, face coverings are no longer mandatory, in line with recent government guidance. However, we are encouraging our customers and employees to continue wearing face coverings and we will continue to provide face masks to our teams.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We continue to implement a number of social distancing measures across all areas within the cinema in line with local government guidelines as required in Scotland, Wales and Ireland. In England, we will be keeping one empty seat in between different bookings in our screens, excluding 4DX and VIP screens which have wider auditoriums with more space in between seats.

Well something doesn’t add up. You don’t get packed screenings off a 1.4 million dollar weekend, unless they were all competition winners.

UK cinema box office takings in the month since all Covid restrictions were lifted in England were half of their pre-pandemic level.
Box office tracker Comscore said £65.7m was spent on seeing films like Black Widow and Fast & Furious 9 in the four weeks after "freedom day" on 19 July.
The figure for the corresponding weeks in 2019 was £129m.
Cinemas said they were "very pleased" with the figures and "pretty confident" they will get back to previous levels.
It's a similar picture in the US, where takings for the last four weekends have been 51% of the equivalent 2019 figures.
Many major movies that were delayed by Covid in 2020 have finally been released in cinemas this summer, but have not enticed the numbers they would have previously expected.
