mymy, I share your nostalgia. I would not have missed - for the whole world - travelling into the desert to climb up our rig at TE6 & beyond! I loved the trips into the desert with like-minded investors, such as yourself, & would not have missed it for the world! From a purely selfish point of view, I really enjoyed the Moroccan experience & all the guys I met up with. We had such fun & I would return with my friends in a heartbeat...

In my opinion there are just two distinctions or classes of rock/pop fans: those who know & appreciate the Beatles albums & in particular John Lennon...& those who are yet to be enlightened!

pduk, refresh my memory...what were you posting when I sold some of my holding? You see I have a hard job remembering you at all! If you were a 'silent' poster you should still recall that I actually announced for all to read that I was selling some shares to pay down my mortgage! There was no secrecy - I was as upfront as anyone could be. I didn't sell & then announce it months later - I sold at 89p & told the world or anyone who cared to take notice that I was selling! Did I have to let anyone know or could I have just sneakily sold? That is not my style. I always prided myself with complete honesty when it came to posting & some old hands here on the LSE Sound website will know me for just that - absolute sincerity!
You think what you like but it cuts no mustard with me & I will lose no sleep over such implications!

On another note...

40 years today since the sad loss of John Lennon. I am spending the day playing the 'White Album, 'Revolver', Abbey Road & as many Lennon tracks as I can to celebrate the tragically cut-short life of the greatest rockin' roller of them all - the INCOMPARABLE JOHN LENNON!

Rest in peace John.

Scarf, I'm definitely NOT saying anyone got conned. What I was saying is punters should be much more careful with their money - me included! Yes there are scams-a-plenty out there but this was just a case of maybe too much enthusiasm, hyperbole & a collective need to believe we had such prospects that we could not fail!

Whenever I talked to James he always seemed genuine & genuinely excited for our Moroccan license prospects. We had a shot at the big time but for one reason or another failed. The quest for petroleum is littered with such instances. You can often read how many wells were drilled on prospects that were dry & when money was running out only for that last-ditch attempt to come in gushing. I'm thinking of 'Dad Joiner', who discovered the huge East Texas oil field with practically his last dollar! How many wells were sunk in Kuwait before oil was struck...The O&G requires lots of money, lots of expertise & some luck...we ran out of at least two of those commodities & arguably all three...though that is debatable.

Hello Albus old friend...I totally agree with your post. We should have all taken action after the 'Pandora's Box' that was the 'Deep Dive' was screened. The clues were there for all to see but even at that stage investors were still willing to take the chance that there would be some substantial hotspots that could yet be found. Also, many folk suspected the veracity of the seismic work we undertook. With hindsight, the clues were there & some astute investors took to the hills...certainly, my friend Appiamma sold up on the back of the negative news that was either real or perceived. He basically did not have the confidence that the Moroccan geology was anything like the Algerian, as enthusiastically advertised by the Company.

Interestingly I was listening to BBC Radio 4 program 'You & Yours' earlier today & some people had invested everything they had in a company called 'Dolphin Trust'. A company that seemingly bought a few derelict properties in Germany & leveraged them highly. They had loans from Banks in Asia, Japan, Singapore etc totaling £1 billion. But it seems to have been a 'Ponzi Scheme', paying out earlier investors from more recent ones. British investors total around 600 & some have lost a packet: one guy said he put his whole pension pot of over £800K into it! There were plenty of sad tales to listen to but I just had to reflect how easy it is to get sucked into a dream of future riches. The moral of that story was - if it's too good to be true then maybe it isn't! We all believe what we want to believe & no one wants to look in the mirror & question themselves. Almost everyone on the AIM is guilty, the savvy punter sees a modest profit & scarpers to the next bet, etc & so on. 'Wash, rinse & repeat' should read 'Bet, win some & move on'...

Hey Pete, just read your reply. I do hope something can be done for you - your prognosis sounds dire even though you don't say what the matter is. Maybe spend some trading profits & go private for a second opinion...but I'm guessing you already have. My thoughts are with you my friend & I do hope something possitive can be done for you.

Hey pete (Largerkhan) , I would like to add my condolences for such an excellent poster...Billfish added so much real content to this site...but I cant help wondering if he was the same poster on ii known as 'Entropic? He too was a musician; a session player but he never said who he played for. We used to have such a laugh on ii Sound before I moved over to post on LSE. I wonder if ther are one and the same? Anyhow, Billfish will be missed.

On a lighter note, how are you doing mate? You are so well connected with AIM & the market in general, even though you seem to be perpetually travelling...maybe that is why! Keep on 'chooglin' my friend...

If you are happy I paid my mortgage off & made money so am I! But, it had nothing to do with anyone elses judgement or imparted knowledge...just my intuitive instinct & the need to pay off my mortgage. There is no smoking gun; no conspiracy theory...the truth is mundane & frankly quite boring: I made money in my trading account but lost some on my SIPP! I'm not a big winner at the casino counting cards to game the system, I'm just an ordinary Joe just trying to make a buck or two...that's all & end of story...........

Trellis, Sundance, I'm sorry you feel that way but I was just posting over the years how I personally saw it. Anyhow, I do still look back with nostalgic pride on my investment in Sound & especially the Moroccan trips & that Shard event, the video of which was never published : what a shame as it turned out to be my finest hour! However, this is the AIM & all who 'invest' in junior stocks should know it is, at the end of the day, a gamble. No one should put money into this listing with their eyes shut & without thorough research & they certainly should not invest money they can't afford to lose....but then you know all that...

Dark Energy, thanks for the warning but I feel Trellis has far too much of a workload these days to extoll the virtues of wine, women & song on a daily basis.

I was also at that 'Shard meeting'...it was my pleasure to accept Jame's invitation to do a short talk from an investor's perspective. I well remember the excitement & the get-together in Borough Market afterward: Saleem & his cigars & my good friend 'Appiammer' - probably bemoaning his downtrodden but beloved West Ham! I look back on the footage of that 'bun-fight' with some pride...pity we had some bad luck & setbacks, but that's the O&G for you! I'm still invested & still ever hopeful.

Watergate, you see too many conspiracies...I need protection from what precisely? It is surely not a crime to make a profit & pay your mortgage off, that's what we are all here for! I even posted my intentions whilst pushing the sell button: can't be more transparent then that! I had exactly the same information you guys had, it was all a matter of public record. Besides, my mortgage was nearly due & the SP had drifted from £1 down to 89p...so like any good trader I took profits before it descended further. Rather than trying to criminalise me surely I need congratulating!!

Well said mymy, I totally agree. Let the Company challenge this. However, Morocco does have a history of seizing assets for unpaid tax so we'd better 'lawyer-up' if push came to shove...but I'm sure it won't!
