Appears some of our budding scientists don't understand what has been explained to them. Failed offerings. Future potential. 38-42 is real value presently without further news. 8 months sustaining SP would be pretty incredible. GLA. This will come good if it can become self sustainable but unlikely within 12m. Customers are not impressed.
I'd take 'better' than Samsung with a large pinch of salt as they have no idea of their current development research.
Note from Edison coverage they still refer to the US partner as a Tier 1.

They appear to have failed regarding fixing matrix/encapsulation which I referred to in the past. Not as simple as one might think and something Samsung pay licence fees to Nanosys for. The new licensee I think is involved may be better prepared however there may be IP infringement issues against Nano in future.
Shaky.
Nor are they likely to be IvaP until at least FY21 earliest and reliant on one customer. 90% of income over 2 years! New licensee/s for film as I expected however these have long development timeframes if they develop at all. Problems with current offerings also as expected. Litigation expensive to persue if IP being encroached. Cash until EOY before funding needs to be found. Nowhere near secured future prospects as yet. Tread carefully IMO.
I expect a small bounce on results tomorrow. Without (clear) guidance on prospects though I'd also expect gradual decline following. Standard pattern. Hoping for a reversal of that standard this time round but vagueness at this stage should ring alarm bells. Keep on your toes (and not sitting on your hands). All on US partnership, display not dead but dormant for near term - may be another film licensee deal in pipeline I believe (reason why I believe not dead), talk of Plessey based product laughable this year, everything else far future potential.
Yr welcome BBD - I bought back to my full core holding today. Will see what happens over next couple of weeks - away skiing again so haven't time to monitor closely. I think there is another film license deal in the pipeline so maybe display is not dead after all. Dow not active I'm lead to believe. Not sure on US deal progress - if it remains vague after 9th then commercial (volume) sales as hoped for on this board very unlikely this calender in my opinion. Nanosys seem to be making impressive progress, Qmc battling on - maybe time for QDs finally.
BBD - relevance to Nanoco? - posted for interest really as quantum dot related. Straight from research so not exactly immediately competitive but interesting in relation to Nano as touches on the issue of commercially viable production of dots (in this case solar applications). Perovskites are a broad range of materials in fact and the term applies to any compound with a similiar crystalline structure to CaTiO3 of which there are many. Nanoco have IP in this area - specifically in their halide doping - a Google search will throw them up for you. The research could potentially be complimentary to Nanos in fact. Some materials may have superior performance but not be viable for large scale application due to production cost issues. This may well be the issue for Nanoco currently in regards to solar/lighting/display with their batch production methods. The research is concerned with continuous flow production which is a common theme (the Dyson sponsored lighting research cited previously also focussed on this aspect of research). Sensors / medical etc may be less sensitive to volume production issues. Nothing to do with Trevista/Dow - just posted following Eskers last post. Do note the website change appears to be just a rebranding exercise - content has not changed. Keeping an eye on declining SP for possible buy back prior 9th April but may wait for something solid from Nano regarding customer/application etc. Not holding my breath. Reliance on this one contract not great but could be the 'game changer' Nano desperately need! GLA
