Upon reflection, I think they'd want to separate this out from another positive RNS.

This is price sensitive news, was included in the annual accounts and requires immediate RNS'ing.

I am absolutely amazed that its 4 1/2 hours since the judgement was made and Kefi hasn't RNS'd it.

A the outcome of a legal case where a loss would have cost kefi 5m is most certainly price sensitive news and should be RNS'd immediately

Am surprised that an RNS has not been released yet.

A simple paragraph with the judgement is all that is needed.

Wonder if something extra is being added / prepared

This was the latest update from the company (17/06/24)

There is a pending legal case against the Company for an amount of GBP 5.1 million from a claimant, Demissie Asafa Demissie (the "Claimant"). The Company believes the claim for successful provision of financial advisory services is spurious and without merit. Nonetheless, the amount claimed can only be payable on successful closing of the Tulu Kapi Project finance, which has yet to occur. The Company is making a counter claim and vigorously defending its position. The Company has engaged legal counsel to represent its interests. The company received a Notice of Trial date for the 5th of December 2024 with a trial window set to 5 days. The Company will disclose any material developments related to this case as and when required by applicable laws and regulations.

Last case activity is when the case is scheduled to conclude.

It's quite clear to all here that them lending to Kefi and their country membership are tied together and all parties are getting what they want when this comes together.

It seems AFC would prefer to operate in Ethiopia rather than just lend into it and Ethiopia are more than happy with this.

I'll await your post and source to show us all why it would be illegal for AFC to lend currently

Can you please post your source of information saying that AFC can't legally lend?

My understanding is that they could lend to Kefi but want the ability to operate within Ethiopia, hence the current status of their country membership having already been approved and now being fast tracked for parliamentary ratification.

So AFC want to lend and operate in Ethiopia and Ethiopia want them to lend and operate in the country.

Personally I find Robs post extremely helpful as they provide a lot of information on the back drop of our project and i don't have to go hunting for it myself.

They can onky be saying this if they are sure the sale is going to be quick and that means Artar.

If they were expecting a 3rd party it would be many more months for due diligence and negotiations to occur.

Worth remembering that on top of our advanced project, there is 16 pipeline projects.
