Thank you Chesh. If half that is true I am very glad I invested. I am now just in profit and very hopeful.
No Friday Blues here. 7.25 pence is now well clear of my average 6.1 pence purchase.
It seems that even Trumpeting for war cannot permanently affect this share price. Lets hope I don't have to eat these words on Monday...
SMDS is proving very acquisitive, pretty well globally. This must bring nearer the much forecast move up to the FTSE 100 and also lift the share price. They also seem to be good at integrating their new subsidiaries. Most seem to become almost immediately profitable. Could a shift up add as much as £1 to our price?
Wow! Equiniti has had a splendid first year on the market. I bought, as an ordinary private investor, on the IPO and am summarising what my £12089.18 holding has done since. The share price has risen from about 164p to about 270p giving me a profit of 52% including automatic reinvestment of dividends. Some time ago I crossed the £20,000 holding which is where I start to cream off profits into other shares and cease to reinvest dividends. I have already creamed 3 batches of £1000, though I am now down to 18,400 so it will be some time before I eat more cream. I bought because I loved the history behind the company, now I realise just how good it is today.
What a wonderfully cheerful chat board this is becoming. I have held BNC for some three years, showing a profit of 21.74%, and enjoyed the excellent dividends coming every quarter which were originally reinvested but now go elsewhere. I have recently creamed £1000 from my holding every time it passes £21000 which has given me a further £5821. I have been impressed with the way a share issue could be fully subscribed so comfortably, to incorporate Banco Populaire, and the purchase of MBNA. I know others disagree but I like the family influence of the Botans. I feel they really care. Finally I was so impressed with their bold entry into the UK, the reason I first bought the shares. All told this is the company I am most pleased with in my share ISA.
I like Michael Masterman and have been to several of his shareholder meetings. At times though he goes into cheerful, hopeful mode eg "We are at the beginning of a journey to make Saffron a mid-cap European natural gas production company". (Midcap is generally thought to be between $2bn and $10bn) "I would absolutely love to pay a dividend, like your grown up company" (talking about one of the representatives at Michaels shareholder meeting) Of course I think he may be right. I continue to buy the shares, but whether Old Father Time will play ball is uncertain still. I remain just as optimistic in my own quiet way but cannot hope to match the Michael.
I have just tried to sell half my holding and there were no takers... Is this usual?
I think you could well be right Appleby. The more I visit the company website and read their plans, the more I think SAT is going places, financially as well as geographically. I suffered a broadband problem about two months ago, leaving me with a tiny broadband speed compared to the 50Mb per sec I am used to. Assuming the figures I read are correct there are so many people suffering long term, as I was for just a few days. If SAT really addresses the problem then we are on to a winner. Gocompare have interesting information about satellite broadband here: http://www.gocompare.com/broadband/satellite-broadband/
Just received latest dividend which Selftrade automatically reinvested. Only 11 shares this time but it will grow. Remember this is a company that has promised to return £10m to shareholders...
Blackstone Group has emerged as the front-runner to buy a majority stake in Banco Popular’s property portfolio.Earlier last month news broke that Banco Santander, which took over the portfolio when it acquired the troubled Banco Popular for the symbolic price of one Euro, was in talks to sell a 51 percent stake for $5.7 billion to bidders such as Blackstone, Apollo Global Management and Lone Star Funds.
Again I enter my portfolio account and find I am still unable to purchase my Rights Shares. The black mood is because there are twelve rns messages about Santander directors who have already, yesterday, managed to buy theirs. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! If I canot buy them today will I lose my dividends on the new shares. Yes I think....
I unexpectedly found myself with £1500 extra to invest yesterday. I found it very hard to choose between SAT and SRON. They are both going to do well and are both cheap to buy, giving me a good number of shares for y money. I finally plumped for SRON but I would be interested to hear what others would have done. I think SRON won because it lowers my average cost per share rather more.
Sprintman, I too purchased on the company opening on AIM. So I am about 22% down at the moment, one factor why I added some more to lower my average price, now 6.1p. It is true that dividends were mentioned in the pitch at the start, and there does seem to be genuine cash flow into the company, but it was all in Michael's wishful thinking mode, and it was not a factor in my decision. Gosh, golly, gee a whole penny would be great, but unlikely. That really would shift the share price though. I know there are probably people worried about their investment here, but I have never been so sure of an AIM company in the 12 years I have been dealing from my ISA.
I unexpectedly had £1500 to invest yesterday and could not decide between SAT and SRON. In the end I plumped for SRON. Does anyone have any thoughts on the comparabilities of these two companies.
I am thoroughly ashamed that I read £ instead of Euros. Thank you LSEJim for a very comforting reply, it is good to know others are in the same boat, even if we are all at sea...
I am a lucky shareholder and am sitting on 2886 rights to buy BNC at £4.85. This will cost me about £14000. I still have no real idea of what the price of all BNC shares will be after my purchase so am really flying quite blind. Perhaps the price will hold up at £5.20 but perhaps it won't. I do know that the last chance to obtain the next dividend is to own the new rights-bought shares by the 2nd August, and understand this will be the case, though it is only this Wednesday, and I cannot yet buy my rights-shares. I do find this all very confusing, but at least I have managed to find the £14000 needed when it all finally happens. I feel sympathy for all who purchased BNC shares in a way that means they cannot participate in all this excitement!
How do SAT place their shares? Will I be able to purchase more?

"We are pleased that Equiniti's strategy of deep specialisms in regulated markets continues to generate underlying earnings growth and shareholder value. Our market leading positions are a foundation for further defensive revenue growth, whilst the quality of our people and platforms provide continuing margin progression."
