I’m quite lucky to be holding from 2015 when Glen had a debt problem to the tune of 30 billion and a very low SP.
We are a far cry from that now with debt of near nothing, and destined to break £6 ant some point. For me though it’s more of a dilemma!
I Was so tempted to sell out recently but am still holding looking ahead at where Glen might be in a few years time.
44c per share and buybacks is all well and good but for me I’d like to see some profit being put to better use. There are plenty of other miners such as Fresnillo which could be scooped up at a decent price offering an opportunity to cash in down the line on increased PM prices.
Alternatively car manufacturers building their own battery plants!?… is there no room for joint ventures??
I’ve speculated on Glen to accumulate but I want to see Glen speculating too.
It’s beyond me why FRES struggles so hard when pulling gold and silver out of the ground against the likes of Bitcoin and all the other crypto scams! They created something that doesn’t even exist, is shown to be a floored legalised boiler room scam, and yet they still attract billions that would ultimately be safer invested in PMs.
If there’s one thing that’s certain the divi isn’t why I’m holding FRES. I’m here for capital appreciation only. I’m up but holding out for £12+ during Q2. Who knows we could be looking at £15+ by end 2023 if things really start to lift off.
Given what Glen has been making these last few months I’m expecting our dividends to be hiked.
Coal is the new gold (at lest for now), fewer bribes being paid (we hope) and fewer fines to pay! All that money has to go somewhere! ;-)
Bottom drawer holding?
To be fair more like a time capsule holding!
Through this debacle, the BOD has definitively proved there is life elsewhere in the universe. Anyone reading this news 3 weeks after raising £9 at a “26% discounted price” and claiming it’s a great buying opportunity, obviously lives on a different planet.
I especially love comments like “I’m holding, not worried as they have cash in the bank”. Not only is there other life in the universe, it’s obviously very intelligent life too! Lol
“2023 promises to be a momentous year for the Company as we focus on making a discovery that can be transformational for the Company. We look forward to welcoming our new shareholders on board at this exciting time."
No words! Just how AIM works!!
On the back of the Bundesbank being warned not to hike dividends and to preserve capital are UK banks likely to be ordered to suspend dividends yet again?
It only seems like yesterday that Lloyd's was ordered not to pay a dividend because we had to fund UK Plc through a pandemic. Are we expected to fund it through a recession too?
As a long term holder with dreams of capital appreciation a distant memory, dividend returns are really my only reason for holding Lloy. If despite increasing profit more dividends vanish in a puff of smoke , does the case for continuing to hold disappear with them?
Makes me sick! In layman's terms common criminals no better that the scum who take your grandmother's life savings for a conservatory that will never be built.
Why do the people who make so much money, and their employers only ever get fined a fraction of what they make? It's the same story every single time!! In cases like this the court should appoint forensic accountants to calculate the profits earned and fine them the lot. Redistribute that money into healthcare, education, welfare...anywhere where the normal people who are suffering as a result of corporate greed can benefit from it.
Companies who employ people like this ARE accountable in any other walk of life. Too big to fail has become too big to punish!
With all this money sloshing around why not pay the remaining debt of $2.3b?
Strikes me that paying anything to service debt when you're flush with cash is wasted moneya. I'm old fashioned but being debt free such a short time after having a big problem with debt would surely be perceived well?
I'll stand by what i said. Posts along the lines of "i've just topped up, it should move up from here" repeated for days and weeks on end are plain boring. They do nothing but serve to highlight just how wrong you called it.
Swap all the info you want but posting the same guesswork day in day out is boring.
Gold and silver are about to pop, FRES making a killing at these PM prices, i've topped up before it rockets, any day now,, etc. etc. etc...
You've been wrong for weeks, i'm just stating my opinion in the "chat" room.
Am i the only person here finding the constant stream of guesses and continual updates about having bought another few shares at what you thought was the day's low simply boring?
Over the last few weeks the barrage of what have turned out to be wildly inaccurate guesses have shown some individuals might do better with their predictions using tea leaves.
I am invested and will sell when it suits me but i'm not going to waste your time or mine updating you multiple times per day on what i think might happen because i accept, as you should, that i simply don't know. It is what it is!
Think yourself lucky you weren'y with the share centre.
I had two accounts a personal one and a business one (only because i have invested some company profit), both with £100 ,per year fee at share centre, taken over by ii who charge £120 (£10/mth) for the personal one and £600 (50/month) for the business one which very rarely trades!
Daylight robbery! The more they make the more others they take over and the more they'll charge. For a service which is automated it's a bl00dy disgrace.
The best part about an SP dropping back is the lack of "any day now" posts ;-)
I often wonder how people rack up thousands of posts but when you read them 99% say exactly the same thing. Very quiet today though, i wonder why? lol
So despite Millenium, MSCI and gold being up... we're down.
Sure, it's likely to turn around soon but it isn't FACT. I'm willing to bet none of the guys who would be their shirt on this actually have but they'll gladly "help" you bet yours.
Gold doing well, Silver doing well but (not miles from mid 2020 levels), remember those?...when FRES shot from £8 to £13. We should be higher than we are but my prediction is that we won't be seeing £9.20-9.40 this afternoon.
It will rise at some point but anyone who tells you on what day can either see into the future or just guessing, the SP tells you which.
