One thing which seems incongruous to me about LUCY is that the motto of TEK is to combine important innovation IP from universities with star powered management. How did his own son get to be head of LUCY? Is he really star power?

SALT currently up to 62p. That is almost a 50% rise since IPO last Thursday...

SALT has a number of attractive qualities. It feels that 200 tonnes is the same as 10,000 tonnes in the sense that if it works it works. Once you have the credibility with a few big brands then should be easy to get others on board.

The global salt market is enormous (292 million tonnes in 2022) and there are essentially no proper alternatives.

It is fairly easy to expand. This excellent management team have plenty of contacts within the industry and connected to policy makers. No massive marketing campaigns needed. The product largely sells itself.

The product is easy to produce and scale up in any location around the world. So shouldn't face any Belluscura type problems in increasing production to meet demand.

They have a strong MOAT so margins are high.

There is a lot of interest in this company among investors. Agricore stated that 3000 already read his latest blog post on Microsalt. The small float and low market cap (Just £20million) mean that it could go up a lot. Every time they announce a new customer that will fuel the buying and there will be a few this year (Already in price negotiations with a few large customers). There is probably a reason why TEK divested from BELL at low levels to add to their stake in SALT. They have the best visibility on what is coming this year. Cutting interest rates could also help.

So the upside is enormous and the worst case scenario isn't that bad either.

I put it more to profit taking. TEK already rose 100% in the week prior to Thursday. Wouldn't base long term trends on 2 days.

If you compare them side by side then it isn't true that BELL grew quicker than TEK. Going public in June 2021 they both rose by about 150% over the next 6 before both declining in tandem thereafter.

For what its worth i think both SALT and TEK will do well this year with TEK doing better as Guident in particular comes into its own.

I don't understand the logic behind that Aspers. I don't expect the SALT to outperform TEK. Even if the rest of the business all went to zero, TEK would still be undervalued compared to SALT.

I am pretty relaxed. SALT is doing well which is the main thing. I prefer to be undervalued than overvalued.

Most interested to see the BELL situation resolved although being such as small portion of the TEK NAV now i suppose it doesn't make a great deal of difference . (I do hold BELL separately).

At least there is no danger of it getting lost among all the other IPOs TopCatz! A number of investors will have been introduced to TEK today.

I don't think it is worth it to over analyse based on 1 or 2 examples in what has been an extraordinary set of circumstances. Shares are supposed to go up over time. They are not supposed to be range bound like currencies. The experts say retail investors overtrade and with stocks like this especially i think the best course is to buy and hold.

Looks like a sell on the news thing. After a nice run up some taking profits. Still obviously far below fair value given the market cap of SALT alone.

Not sure why anyone would be surprised about the 12 month lock in. I am fine with it anyway, i think SALT will do well this year and want them to maintain exposure.

Seems that they have learnt some lessons from previous floats and set it up to support the SP. Am very much encouraged by the start for SALT although obviously have to wait for the dust to settle to get a proper idea. Am thinking this will unlock new deals to be signed now and would expect the newsflow for SALT to be quite busy in the next few weeks/months.

Hi NelsontheDog, I recommend that you read Oak Blokes Guident article outlining the prospective pipeline Guident have. The valuation TEK put on Guident is not unreasonable in my view.

I think that if the Microsalt IPO does goes well (maintaining its valuation or even going up), then this will force a reappraisal of Guident's contribution to the overall TEK valuation. If Microsalt contributes 14p per share then Guident should be in the same region.

It will be interesting to see how those cynics react. Those for whom 6p was too high to buy and were waiting for 2p. Will they be forced to catch up at higher values (if they were every genuine investors anyway)? They do seem to have gone awfully quite since i don't have any green blanked out messages on here for the last 2 days...

I don't see TEK as a rangebound stock. I see it as a growth stock which is growing. One day it will go above 30p and stay above there for good.

Interesting that 6p seems to be a bit of a base for this stock over the years. Looks a bit like January 2020 when it was 6p and after an easing in financial conditions rallied to >16p by April. Would argue that the 4 businesses are in a better position now, with revenues actually beginning to grow now.
