Sounds like to me like Kevin Jones knows for a fact the finance deal is about to go through and is desperately trying to throw a spanner in the works at the last minute - the man is obsessed and appears to have a tame Times hack on speed dial - but there’s a lot of politics involved here, much more of it in favour of supporting H&W imho
