The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
@SP . I’ve said it before but DV and GB really need to get their act together regarding their PR.
Quite frankly its a joke and if the PR person named on their RNSs is responsible then they need to be removed to get someone to do a proper job....
I’ve said it before and will say it again ... this is a dangling of a carrot ..
Again he is using works such as ‘intend’ or ‘expected’ to so really nothing is confirmed.
I will say he was ‘Damed if he does’ and ‘damned if he doesn’t’ by releasing this RNS.. if he stayed quiet then we would moan but we are still going to moan as there is no substance to his communication...
Every time I pick up national newspapers I see reference to different companies developing breath tests.
It was great too see some positive news in the Irish Examiner but seeing the importance of this project, would it be wise for DV to step up their game on the PR front. Yes it will require some investment but surely now is the time to engage a full on PR company to get DVs names mentioned in the same line as these other foreign companies and attract world wide interest.
It’s also seems from the IE article that DVs accuracy and in-field testing are slightly ahead than the others than previously may have been disclosed..
I really don’t think the current PR company is doing justice to DV. Maybe there is a lot behind the scenes but how are other small start ups and companies getting this attention while DV seemingly gets ignored.
Anyway onwards and upwards and hope DV all the success...
Who are these IIs ?
Like I mentioned before I don’t see the logic of them hiding? Especially if they have already accumulated so much ..
I personally don’t see these IIs as mainstream or global powerhouses they as they would have disclosed already to their own investors and they wouldn’t get involved in such a convoluted way. One of the other reasons I take this view is if we did have a global powerhouse like a hedge fund that’s well known and recognized then it would be in their own interest to declare it openly as it would immediately open up business to major companies wanting to monetize their own inventory.
Also if we had such great support from IIs then why did AZ have to meet with investors and HNW individuals recently ? Surely you would openly prove the model works on your existing monetisation and the money would follow 6 months later ...
My guess is IF and when these IIs are disclosed then everyone’s going to ask .. who are these random unknown companies and some will try again by showOmg convoluted random twitter links that showed how they once may have worked with a large company in the past 20 years ago...
As I write this I can see how negative I’m coming across and some will accuse me of deremaping. I assure you thats not my intention but I suppose I’m looking for someone who can rationally persuade me otherwise ...
@aim but why? If the share is the unicorn that we all hope to be then why keep your holding low and hidden? There has been enough time that they could accumulate without it having a drastic effect on SP?
Sorry if I’m missing the obvious but just doesn’t quite add up to me...
I can understand some institutional investors trying to purchase indirectly however why have we not seen a single TR1 for those who could just as easily buy directly?
While I dont dispute that IIs may be buying via indirect i do find it very very hard to believe that ALL IIs are going down that route? The share has been possible to trade freely easily to buy in at decent levels.
In addditon I believe the indirect holdings are too convoluted and being horse traded among a few individuals for big II name players to be involved that - all in my opinion and have no way to prove either way - except looking at other fintech companies who dont come anywhere near this level of holding company shenanigans. Normally Mainstrem IIs love to shout about their investments as it attracts other investors too. I don’t buy the whole lets get a bunch of shares but not tell anyone about it.
I’m still probably going to buy more at this level but am under no illusion that this is going to be a Boom or bust and could very easily be a magical rainbow and no pot off gold at the end.
I really hope those saying that RNS by end of the week becomes a reality. ( as long as its not along the lines of past RNSs which are too vague to verify...
I agree good time to buy up but No point blaming the MMs or the II. That same line has been trotted out for the last 8 weeks..
IMHO the market is spooked as its nearing the end of the month and updates were promised by AZ...
If you willing to hold then all good but until AZ delivers something tangible rather than vague dangled carrots then we are not going anywhere ...
@mannamead1711 - I’ll be a lot more fun when we reach a 1p share price. :)
Here we go again ...
For those signing up to this delusional £1 party... are you all saying that SYME are going to have a market cap of approx £33billion?
Do you all believe that this is going to bigger than Barclays Bank. Or be a top 20 FTSE company?
I’m all for being positive and giving realistic predictions but please let’s not go to Fantasy land...
If you still believe this is going to be bigger than Barclays Bank then I suggest you rename your party FYRE Festival 2.0.
Let’s get to 1p or even 5p first ...
AZ hasn’t even been able to provide solid info or updates on his previously mentioned ‘ opportunities’ as he has promised . E.g. stormharbour. Saying everything is progressing well is not an update.
It’s poor form to start dangling another carrot without anything verifiable or being vague like previous RNSs. For your own piece of mind people should look at a pick of random RNSs from other companies over the past week. You will see the majority of them have cold hard numbers and names without hiding behind so called NDAs. If you have an NDA then you close your mouth until you have something of certainty to provide.
The current SP has very very little to do with MM manipulating the market ( this is just a poor excuse) This is down to AZ not yet being to provide anything concrete.
Yes we all need to be patient but then people’s patience’s starts running short when you can’t deliver on your first set of promises.
AZ needs to change his tone to...’We have completed XYZ with xxxx’ rather than ‘we will complete XYZ by this time But we can’t tell you with whom or what with’..
If he can’t provide the latter then imho he should stay quiet..
Except DV isn’t 4 seconds either so for the sake of accuracy probably best not to state that...
I’m sure we all recall the presentation that one has to blow and then put the ‘cartridge’ in the DVD machine to get the result and then after the analysis the app gets updated.. so clearly that process does not take 4 seconds..
So far I’m invested medium term ... I have no issue in waiting but then AZ should only release when he has concrete info rather than give info on unverifiable information. Providing unverifiable information makes people suspicious. If you can’t verify something then i would prefer him to say nothing at all.
I believe it was AZ himself who said that there will be updates in due course via emails etc - if he didn’t say there would be updates then I have the wrong end of the stick..
As for doing research -I suggest everyone should do their own. Giving opinion is one thing but posters coming along and finding random twitter links as fact should be ignored..
All I will say if SYME is going to be as huge as we all hope it will be, then in my opinion a one man band advisory company with a history that basically only says ‘ he has worked with xyz company’ doesnt quite excite me.
Without trying to be rude does ‘working with XyZ ‘ mean I genuinely facilitated multi million pound deals or it does it mean ‘I once give 10 hours professional advice to the supply chain department’ ?
It just doesn’t seem congruent with the size of the potential company. Anyway I hope I’m proved wrong and this person does bring decent recognizable value to the company...
Quite frankly AZ needs to deliver something concrete on all this supposed news.People keep taking about II needing to buy up shares and blaming the MM for the suppressed SP and coming up with all sorts of BS excuses of why the SP is where it is. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence can see that right now the company needs solid news rather than blame it on others ..Updates have been promised but it seems it keeps getting pushed further and further back which adds to everyone’s skepticism. Along with all the shenanigans with the holding companies, AZ can easily put this to rest if he provides something concrete. And by concrete I mean hard figures and names... No MOU or ‘intention’ to work with other companies or naming people whom when you look up their history have vague ‘consultancy’ advisor roles but no real commercial experience. Some real verifiable companies and signed deals are what is needed for anything to progress... even the whole bank thing was ‘ subject to approval’. Again it’s a very much ‘ we are going to do in the future ‘ Would like to see some thing by the end of the month but I hope BS excuses don’t start being made..
Who was the bright spark who came up with the theory that Hellium sold a chunk of shares due to the market cap being too high for their investment strategy?
Is Hellium going to repurchase at the current SP?
Can someone explain in layman’s terms what’s the benefit of the II buying indirectly via a structure of holding companies rather than a regular direct investment. Are there examples of other companies going down similar routes ?
As I’ve already mentioned I’m still 50/50 on this company but along for the ride either way...
Thanks @gjbrandon
I do appreciate you responding. It is reassuring that the BOD do respond - I will resend the email in case it was overlooked the first time around - I’m sure lots happening in the company at the moment.
I do hope that your team does manage to realise material issues on the breath test. However just to be clear I wasn’t asking for material reassurance. I just wanted to see if you had any comments on what your instant test in development has to offer above what appears to be tests that are already being trialed in-field.
@gbrandon
Thanks for the comments. I’ll pose this question here even though I hope it’s taken as a genuine question rather than any sort of attempt to be negative.
Has Deepverge got a USP for airports or even pilots projects lined up? The reason I ask is we already have a company that is testing at European airports . Please see the link. According to the link the company is already providing security at over 120 airports worldwide so have an established link. Would Deepverge be in a similar position with airports or in discussions with them?

Apologies for asking the question here but emails to BOD / investor relations go answered?
Looking at the financials of the company I agree it looks pretty dire. Even worse when you look at the history.
What attracted me to bids is the concept and potential.. 100% believe in the concept and without doubt what they are doing is here to stay and expand. For me the question is whether it will be Bidstack who get crowned kings or someone else will come along and take the glory.. I think we will find out by the the end of this quarter ...
Why is everyone getting carried away by the appointment of an auditor? Firstly it’s It’s a legal requirement and secondly for those congratulating SYME there is nothing to congratulate about . Multiple companies will have tendered and SYME will go for the cheapest...Countless examples of big 4 audits firms who didn’t identify fraud in companies so how big a company has no bearing..The question everyone should be asking is why did Grant Thornton refuse to tender?
Agree with Slomo ... the value of these forums is for someone to question which hopefully makes us all more informed. As it stands the Italian Stalion needs to show something concrete before things can progress..
I think if we didn’t have the shenanigans with the maze of holding company’s and lack of clear clarity then the other RNSs would have been received with a lot more positivity.
As it stands it makes everyone suspicious of the company and my guess is there is a lot of people who are 50/50 on where this is going... let’s hope AZ smacks us with some confirmed and solid names...
