Printing money causes inflation as you increase money supply, haven’t they learned that yet? Also the main cause of this crisis with rising inflation is not due to consumer spending that increased interest rates is supposed to control. it’s due to OPEC refusing to increase production of oil. Taking money out of economies via interest rate rises is not going to solve the problem, the problem is with the limited energy supply. Perhaps they need to talk to OPEC a little more , that’s my view on this.

I believe the fed will at some point have to reverse their aggressive increases in interest rates as using these to control inflation is a very blunt instrument. Having said that they are having some results from these increases as it strengthens the Dollar making imports cheaper therefore reducing inflation. The UK increases aren’t helping at all as investors have lost faith in the UK economy which shows in pound weakness, but I expect they will raise again maybe 75 points at this weeks meeting. All in all it’s not looking good for 12 months or more even if the war in Ukraine ends soon. Will I get my 50p exit ? I doubt it sadly.
