I've been dormant for some time (2+yrs) after taking a bath on another comp that delisted taking ~20k of my cash with it. Today I logged back into my halifax account to see what the rest of my speculative shares were doing, and discover that this is delisted too... Ouch.
About a naive lad who decides to get into shares. Buys and sells a few penny stocks and makes a few quid. Gets cocky. Whacks 18 grand into a company which is being pumped to high heaven by a Baron. Fast forward 5 years and his 18k is now worth about 100 quid, and even that can't be sold any more. Moral of this story? Don't gamble if you cant afford to lose...
Came back to read how it's all going since I sold out some time ago. Sad to see for the long suffering LTH that in swallowing my loss at the time I prevented an even bigger one now. To pick up on a comment someone made a couple of pages back about the BOD taking smaller salaries or buying shares I've often thought in the darker moments that VAL was purely intended to be a development fund vehicle, and that when the science was proven it would find itself mysteriously adopted by a "clean" company almost certainly owned by the BOD in much larger proportions. How that mechanism would occur I leave it to you but it wouldn't be the first company to end up delisting.
now, I've finally lost my patience after 3 years and sold for 66% loss. SP will shoot up in the next week or so I think.
But what's the margin on that?
Good results but market not paying attention?
I think he meant "this could be one of the stars of 2015"
Great. There's too many TW disciples out there who blindly follow. The guy's an arse. And I don't for one second believe his disclaimer "I don't hold or have no intention to buy in 72hrs". Half the time I think he uses his notoriety to try to manipulate a cheap entry.
Delayed it till it looked like a sell. Good old MM games.
This morning, but trade's not showing yet. 11am-ish, 7400 shares for 1500 quid.
My grand just turned into 55p....
Well, two years and he's brought us what exactly? Unfortunately I see this is only going one way and it's not up....
Yeah, mines 0.35 so still a ways to go. Nice rise in % terms though.
This is going up? Now I have to pick myself up off the floor lol.
to get anywhere near my average of 0.46... Still, it's in the right direction for a change.
lots of PI's getting in on the act I think looking at the trade volumes and frequency
Agreed on the volumes in cash terms, but it's nice to see smaller purchases going through to me as it smacks of PI's topping up or taking positions with "expensive" commission and tax which suggests a less concerned approach to the day to day SP. With regards to the SP post update, I'm being very conservative as it's a unknown sector for me. My target is 19.5p for post dividend and update period, but am happy that it most likely will be higher. I've no real intention of holding everything long, but I'll probably cash 80% out and leave the rest running free and collecting Divi's for retirement fund.
Sea of blue on the trades screen at the moment. I don't think it'll be long before this ticks up.
I think a tick up is possible soon.
I'll quite happily take a couple of % rise a day up to the ex dividend date. This is going in the bottom drawer anyway but it's nice to have a blue share for a change at the moment! :)
