I agree that company value is the key factor long term. But seeing ANIC’s stake in Meatly drop from 25% to 11.57% after a single funding round did surprise me somewhat, and it’s made me think more about dilution risk across the portfolio.

The big question for me is not whether ANIC has promising portfolio companies, but whether it can retain enough ownership in the eventual winners after years of future fundraising. How are others thinking about this risk/reward balance?

For every trade, there is both a buyer and a seller, so the total number of shares bought must always equal the total number sold. Is that correct?

Trades are labelled as ‘buys’ or ‘sells’ depending on whether they execute at the offer or the bid price. Is that correct?

If more trades are listed as ‘buys’ than ‘sells’, does that simply mean more trades executed at the offer than at the bid price, and that this may indicate short-term buying pressure?

Apologies if this is basic. I’m just trying to properly understand what the buy/sell data is actually telling me each day.

I am an ANIC shareholder and continue to add more shares when I can. The portfolio includes several extremely promising companies that I’m very excited about.

Re. the point I made a few days ago, I just value clear and honest communication. Any hint of exaggeration may be off-putting to new investors. That’s why it bothers me when Jim makes some of these statements [e.g. tuna consumed every day = organ failure within 12 months]. There’s no need for it. The story is compelling enough without it. Stay patient everyone. 2026 may just be the turning point we’ve all been waiting for.

I don’t think Jim does Agronomics any favours when he states things like [on lab grown fish]:

“I really believe that fish is a no brainer, because, you eat tuna fish every day of the week, let’s say you do, your organs are going to fail within a year because of mercury poisoning and because of microplastics and so forth”.

I cannot find any evidence to support this statement. And this makes me question the other stuff he comes out with. I’m sure that eating tuna daily long-term increases the risk of mercury accumulation and toxic effects, but eating tuna every day does not automatically mean you’ll have organ failure. I think it is really important that he, and all others involved in cell ag and precision fermentation, stick to the facts, and refrain from making sweeping statements like this.

A very interesting article, but what would this mean for Agronomics? There was no mention of ANIC in the article, only New Agrarian.

6.38p average for me. First buy was at 11p. I have always had confidence that the Agronomics portfolio will come good, so kept buying as it was going down as and when I had funds available. I was fortunate to get in when the SP was relatively close to bottoming out, rather than riding the decline from 37p. Good luck to you all!

@nanopayments, it seems a little strange because at the end of each news article on the Agronomics website it states “This information is provided by Reach, the non-regulatory press release distribution service of RNS, part of the London Stock Exchange.” So it appears that the ANIC news is being circulated, but just not appearing in the Trading212 app (to be fair, on closer inspection most of the articles do seem to appear in the Hargreaves Lansdown app though). It’s just a little frustrating seeing so much conversation in T212 around other stocks, but nothing for the past 9 months for ANIC. More people should know about it and understand the many benefits. Anyway, I’m sure they will in time. I enjoy reading your comments in this forum, so please keep them coming! All the best 🙂

Another interesting ANIC good news story. Thank you for posting it. I have often wondered why these never/rarely appear in the Trading212, Hargreaves Lansdown etc ANIC news sections? The last ANIC news story in Trading212 is now 9 months old but a lot has happened since then! I am very excited about future of many of the ANIC portfolio companies, but ANIC doesn’t currently seem to get much exposure.
