It seems were in a downward spiral ATM. Oil just can't break much over $40. Some may try to average down from here. Waiting for fed to install next batch of stimulus, which should resume this fake market that ignores the plight of the real world. Faang stocks continue their march up in USA. It's a long way back from here, even to £16. But without dividend being increased in a year or so, then these levels from £10 to £14 will become the normal. See Tesco, Sainsbury's, Vodafone & by, all for this trend. Cut dividend & share price has never recovered. I'm afraid RDS is now in the same boat.

Well RDS, just gone ex dividend, so historically SP will fall back. But for all the fundamentals, chemical, gas, oil, renewables etc etc, since cv19, Russia v Saudi price war, with the dividend cut this is now in effect a new company. To me in its basic calculation a 60% dividend cut us gonna take an awful long time to rectify it's self. And these low SP will be the norm untill the dividend is raised. Which I think will be a long long time coming. I said this wouldn't make £16 this year & wouldn't make £20 next year, well for next year I'd revise that down to £19 already. I may be wrong, but there's no magic wand for shell or BP.

Shell may be a good share to play from £11,25 to £12 if you've money to play with over the next few months.

Not sure on what platform you checked the conversion, but according to mine it's about 12.2 ¢ today. But September 8th shell will give exact conversion. It was around 12.5$ last time, so ATM it's slightly less.

Hi, wrong board or not many footsie companies will consider rights issues, especially banks & retail stocks. But BP & shell too could go down that route if things don't pick up well into 2021 , imo. Speaking of may, there's many interesting posts on here today's, that have much positivity, but most are "if", "maybe", "could", "might", all running through them. No, the western media are just as corrupt as any. Indeed the English media have proved since their imperialist days their a match for any corrupt government ever. Let's see if Putin's & others claim for a proven vaccine comes to pass. Time will tell if Putins claims are true. Hi, with no vaccine in sight for cv19, many footie 100 companies will consider rights issue to prop up groaning balance sheets. Banks & retail more likely ATM I would think. But if cv19 fallout continues well into 2021 then many others will not hesitate to go down the rights issue route. Shell & BP included. Oil just can't break much above 40$ , but I'd be happy for it to remain in that region & for shell to stay around £11 till next update. As for share price doubling within the year, more chance of Aston villa qaulifying for the champions league.

Well trump could get his p45 later in the year , if you believe the USA media, who are just as corrupted as ours. But that said, Nasdaq at all time high, mainly due to the fanny 5. Dow, not that far behind, so can only see trump going as a negative in relation to stocks. Ok, the battle between USA & China may ease, but all the other geo political problems will still need to be addressed. An observer on CNBC said the other day China v USA is not a cold war like with Russia, more of a battle to be number 1 in a business global sense. Can't see trump going quietly.

Admittedly I have no one to blame but myself for both buying & not selling when every thing told me I should be selling, not buying. But that said many many many observers on here & many other sites were telling me I was clueless when I predicted the big share price fall & the dividend cut. As per usaul people can't help themselves telling me what I should , shouldn't be doing. As per usaul I'll do as I please & suggest you do likewise. This is a good buy at these levels , but no £@8 until dividend rises. Don't hold your breath.

I never said anyone forced me to buy. What I said is it's a gamble & many regret taking it.. The same as the grand national etc etc.

Hi, hope your well. Yes indeed you won't get anywhere near 4% from high st banks. But how many shell shareholders wish they had kept their money in the paltry paying banks rather than in vesting in shell. They'd be sleeping in their bed alot easier, I believe. Shares are a gamble. No share is exempt to the gamble. I was told tobacco, telecommunications, supermarkes were defensive stocks. Now their totally down due to market forces. I recall getting 5% on a 1 year ISA from hbos in 2006. Indeed 4% on sharedealling account. Those days are gone forever in my lifetime. Banks are finished after banking crisis, PPI scandal & now cv19. Interest rates will remain at low levels for many many many years. So me & all shareholders are forced to gamble hard earned cash on shares. Hope it works out well for you. But dividend won't be rising anytime soon, just like interest rates.

Hi, no I don't see any chance of a merger between the two. But merely pointing out rumours of that happening is the only way shell can see £18. Like you say, £12 £14 is more realistic imo , though I would be happy for it to stay around these levels till next update in November. Then see what BOD have to say then.

When i held shell & BP 15 years ago, a merger between the 2 was often mentioned more in jest than anything else. Forward 15 years & it doesn't sound so far fetched. It's the only way I can see the shell share price getting up to £18 over the next year or so.

Why should I do what you wish. You can do as you wish & so can I. Not once have I ever stated I'm good. My previous predictions have been in the main very good. I've lost money on the banks, Tesco , Sainsbury's, Vodafone + now shell. So when I have so much experience of shares which all did really well for a good period before bombing, so I point out that it's a long long way back. That's just the truth. Yes I'm poor at buying shares. But why is shell gonna buck the trend of the above mentioned shares. It won't. Truth.

Well BP as followed suit & cut the dividend. Maybe now oil share holders will see the depth of the challenges facing oil majors for a considerable amount of time. Last time BP cut dividend it took 5 years for it to be fully restored. Share price as never gone back to pre Divi cut prices. Same happened at all the banks, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Vodafone + bt. CEO's now spouting the same lines as the above mentioned stocks. Challengeing situations, competitive issues etc etc. Shares are not rocket science. I know little about the intricacies of the stock market, but there's not much to knowing about shares. There based on one thing, profits. Falling profits mean dividend cuts, period. I wonder how many footsie companies will now see rights issues as a way to prop up falling balance sheets.i don't see any other options open to them imo. No one can do any research for the banking crisis, September 11th, cv19. Buying shares is a gamble. Buying BP & shell today will be a decent buy, but a roller coaster over the next few years. But anyone expecting some huge quick turnaround go look at the above fore mentioned stocks & see where there share price was, predividend & after & the reality is there for all to see. You won't need to visit spec savers. That's the reality.
